Wonderful place to stay!

I loved my stay with Gordon! It was clean, safe, comfortable, and in a convenient location. What I liked most was it was a much more authentic experience than staying in a big hotel. This way, you experience local living, which is really cool. My room and bathroom were regularly cleaned and stocked and the price was quite reasonable. Plus, even though there were several other guests there, the layout of the house affords excellent privacy. I never saw anyone else and barely heard them either! Gordon is very friendly, kind, and always available for questions and recommendations. He even saved me an Uber ride by driving me to the cruise terminal himself when it was time for me to leave, which was so generous of him. I highly recommend his guesthouse! Thank you, Gordon!

Cape Town Guesthouse

Good location for walking to either the V&A Waterfront or downtown. Convenient to city bus routes. Breakfast is at a cafe about 2 blocks away. Nice start to the day. Gordon, the host, is very nice and accommodating.

Kudo to Mr Gordon

MrGordon is an elder gentleman but went out if his way to see that we were comfortable. His location is very convenient to all the downtown hot spots Cape Town has to offer

Really good location

We spend a few days at Gordons house. Its a perfect location for exploring the city and on a nice area. We had a room in the back, it was a little dark and small but ok. The bed coukd be better, should probably soon be changed. Breakfast is not in the house, but at a little place nearby. All in all we had some fine days here.

Recommendable private guesthouse.

Gordons Guesthouse is centrally located uphill between the City Bowl and the Waterfront in a quiet area at the end of a closed road. Closeby we found nice restaurants in De Waterkant within walking distance. We stayed 5 nights in the double room in the ground floor, which had a very fine, new bathroom. The room was clean and quiet, and we were the only guests there. Gordon was renovating parts of the place when we arrived, but quickly cleared any building mess. As a host Gordon is helpful and drove us to the airport at no extra charge (also, he is very fond of smoothies). We received breakfast vouchers for a nearby restaurant and this was very good value. As far as private homestays go Gordons Guesthouse was good value, quiet and clean. Recommended.

On check in , my bathroom hadn’t been serviced at all. Brake marks in the toilet, hair in the wash basin, no shampoo or body lotion in the bathroom, virtually no toilet paper. Most disappointing and the worst possible welcome any guest can receive.

Well located but very poor accommodation

On entry to the room it was clear that the owner lived in an open plan area adjoining the room and seems to share the bathroom. There was dirty bed linen soaking in the bath. The room was dirty and musty. We turned the aircon on to provide fresh air. We could not leave the door open because another room looks into the room we were allocated. Hotel.com should not have this on their books until the ensure the owner has passed and electrical inspection. The electrics tripped out overnight and there were no lights in the morning and no hot water. We checked out immediately and found another venue for the Cape Town Mining Indaba.

Zuerst hat uns Gordon die ersten 3 Nächte in ein Hotel geschickt. Überbucht. Das Deluxe Zimmer hat 9 m2 plus 2 m2 Dusche WC. Die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen. Vor allem die Bettwäsche. Am Schluss wollte er noch zusätzlich Fr. 75 für die drei Nächte im Hotel. Preis Leistung absolut nicht ok.

Small compact comfortable unit, within easy walking access to Waterfront. Very friendly and amenable host, who went out of his way to fetch us from the airport as car hire was booked out solid throughout Cape Town. Ideal for the short business trip.

Fantastisk vy över hav o Kaphalvön

Vårt rum var litet och enkelt men allrummet är väldigt fint med en fantastisk utsikt. Enkelt att parkera och en liten trevlig pool att svalka av sig i. Vill ni ha ett boende till rimlig kostnad så bo här en eller ett par nätter.
