Stayed here for 2 night's in June and loved it, the place is warm and welcoming, the bed was massive and comfy with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Shower was easy to use and very clean, definitely stay here again.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and cooked how you like it, the host was friendly and veey helpful.
Very enjoyable stay at Rockingham Lodge. Made to feel welcome on arrival and room was very clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast and good choice of pubs nearby for meals. Definitely recommend and rebook.
Excellent stay again at Rockingham. Friendly and welcoming owner. Great breakfast. Refurbishment looks great but hasn't lost all the lovely touches.
Can't recommend it highly enough. Great base for the peaks and Buxton. Very atmospheric for a pre Xmas stay.... village looking lovely.
Gill is a lovely lady, fabulous cook and hostess, our room was spotless, cleaned daily, great choice for breakfast and local for places to eat within walking distance. Gill leaves a list of pubs so there is a choice of whete to go and eat. Cant wait to book next year and stay longer. So happy with our stay
Breakfast was excellent, bedroom was spotless, but only bbc1 and 2 viewable on the t.v. due to weak signal on freeview.
Tideswell is a beautiful village to visit, the star and the george pubs are close by and serve excellent food.
The property has a historical background and retained much of its character. The hostess is lovely, the food excellent and my room was fantastic. Although on the market square it is not noisy.
Wonderful stay in a great location. Gill is very informative and helpful. Even saw the film set of Mission Impossible 7 that she recommended we de-toured to.
The property was just a little from the village centre so nice and quiet, it was a very nice room with queen bed and so comfy and the brekky was lovely with a choice of cereal and a full english, Tideswell is a very clean and pretty place to stay, we will visit again
Good location. Good breakfast. Very friendly. We were able to use the TV lounge in the evening which was a bonus. Good parking. Very warm.
You may need help with the shower but it does work well. Bit dusty in places. Room TV a bit small but the one in the lounge is fine. WiFi works well. Expedia told me my booking hasd been made for Buxton!! The place is in Tideswell!! A quick call set my mind at rest.
Our stay at Rockingham Lodge was faultless.
We just wanted a night away somewhere peaceful and weren’t disappointed. We were welcomed by Gill and shown to our room (room 3) which had a lovely king size bed as advertised that was comfortable with a plush duvet and pillows.
The room had all that we needed and space to move around, and was impeccably clean.
Gill offered us refreshments (in addition to the ones available in the room) and discussed dietary requirements for breakfast the next day, generously offering me non-menu items to accommodate my allergies. She also gave us recommendations on local places for a range of budgets to get an evening meal.
There is a spacious guest lounge available to relax in should we have wanted to.
We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed, and able to come and go as we pleased.
There’s loads of free parking in the square which had minimal traffic (very quiet!) and no parking restrictions in the village, which is very pretty and easy to get to/navigate. Was lovely to hear the church bells chiming (didn’t keep us awake at all).
Wifi was spot on.
Breakfast was delicious, filling and freshly made to perfection.
Overall, this stay was just what we wanted and excellent value for money.
We had the most relaxing time, the room was spotless, the bed was so big and comfy, the food was delicious and the hostess friendly and family warm and welcoming.we will come back and highly recommend.
1. Room was clean & comfortable;
2. Good Choice for Breakfast;
3. Nice Quiet Location;
4. Off road car parking available;
5. Proprietor was very helpful;
6. The Lodge just needs to sort out its WiFi: Just didn't work in the room, had to stand on the landing and also not able to log on to some rockingham / ROCKINGHAM hotspots.
Expedia had Rockingham Lodge postal address as Buxton. It is in Tideswell. This error nearly caused us to do a lengthy car ride to the wrong place. Rockingham Lodge is absolutely in Tideswell. Expedia, please get this postal address right.
Friendly owner, very good cooked breakfast, comfortable bed, clean room. Pretty village. Wall to the adjoining room is a bit thin, so you may get some noise from other guests if you're unlucky or they're inconsiderate.

Or in Buxton
Despite the address being ‘Buxton’ this bed and breakfast is in the village of Tideswell, 20 minutes drive from Buxton.
