Our weekend was extremely enjoyable, the staff were very engaging and professional, Steve the Hotel Manager was the perfect host, we will definitely recommend our friends to stay there.
Beautiful hotel in a stunning location - fabulous service from all members of staff especially manager Steve and special mention to Lilia in the restaurant for her friendliness and professionalism. Delicious food and extremely comfortable spotlessly clean rooms - an all round delightful experience, thankyou.
Staying at the Cavendish hotel is a real treat. The hotel itself is beautiful and well located, with a short walk to Chatsworth and lovely surroundings. The staff at the hotel were helpful and attentive, and could not have been more easy to interact with. The room was lovely, with nice touches to make you feel at home.

We loved the tranquility of Cavendish. The view from rooms 1&2 were breathtakingly beautiful . The green rolling hillsides with buttercups were lovely and relaxing.
The staff was incredibly engaged and helpful.
Adele at the front desk was amazing as was Tony who was very helpful. Stuart Bond as our server was upbeat , friendly and accommodating to our needs. The food was delicious. We look forward to returning .
The room was very beautiful and clean. Staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, and helped us with our heavy luggage without hesitation. Within five minutes of our arrival, we were welcomed with fresh tea, and our room had complimentary cakes! They supply a fan in the room too, which is helpful for anyone that needs some airflow for comfort. We had breakfast in the morning and the food was delicious and fresh. The hotel is conveniently located about two minutes from the bus stop, and a seven-minute walk to a local pub with great food. We also walked to Chatsworth House and its surrounding grounds, which are next to the property. It overlooks a sheep farm too. This was truly a magical stay, I wish we stayed more time!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful spot on the Chatsworth Estate. Had a gorgeous room with a super comfy bed. Dinner on the terrace was delicious and very cozy. We were lucky with the weather so really nice to have some patio time. Would definitely stay there again
The perfect spot to enjoy the Chatsworth Estate and walk to the house.
The food is delicious and all from the area. Everyone is so kind and welcoming
I didn't want to leave!
I would avoid staying here if you want a quiet nights sleep.
We paid for a top room and it was directly above the lounge / dinning area and it’s disturbingly noisy. We came away for a quiet night and didn’t get any sleep. The noise didn’t calm down until midnight.
Not a happy experience
We last visited in 2021 and were looking forward to seeing the recent refurbishment and new Garden Room. The new decor is more modern and the Garden Room provides an impressive second restaurant. On our last visit we felt welcome as house guests. This time, not so much. Sometimes the service was great. Other times we felt invisible. The receptionists now handle phone calls. We came with our bags to check in and were faced a single receptionist deep in conversation - apparently with someone trying to book a room. There was not even eye contact to acknowledge we were waiting. After quite some time, a porter appeared and offered to show us to our room. He managed to attract attention to find our room number.
Later in the evening we had a booking in the garden room for dinner and went to the bar for a drink. We picked up the menus and were told we could order when we got to our table. Service was extremely slow. The food was good but not remarkable.
The bedroom was revamped in a modern style but the bathroom still had some old fashioned features like an over bath shower that wanted to hit the bath surround.
Overall - a great location and potentially a great hotel.
Had a lovely room with a superb view. Disappointed that we were unable to take breakfast or dinner on both days of our stay as places were fully booked (to non-residents?). But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
