Langley Castle Hotel

"We had such a lovely stay at Langley Castle Hotel. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived and made the whole experience feel really special. We stayed in the Percy Room, which was full of charm and character while still being very comfortable. Staying in an actual castle was such a unique experience. We also loved walking the nearby trails and grounds — it was peaceful and beautiful, especially in the evening. Dinner at the hotel was excellent, with great food and a really nice atmosphere, and breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable stay and somewhere we’d happily return to"

"The room & bathroom were a good standard although I found the bed too firm for me. I particularly liked the good quality toiletries. Breakfast was ok but would advise to get up early for a better choice. The first morning I ordered pancakes & bacon. The portion of pancakes was good but a very small drizzle of syrup & 1 slice of streaky bacon meant I had to supplement with honey & bacon from the buffet. We ate 1 evening meal in the hotel. Maybe it was a poor choice but 2 small lamb chops for £24.50 was disappointing. Many tables were empty on a Saturday night, although the website said fully booked and we saw 5 different staff clean the same table. The Hotel was very clean and rooms good I just felt the dining experience could be improved. The toaster needs sorting as it either leaves the bread barely toasted or burns it to a crisp. I would stay again as it was in a good location. I think other guests mentioned but there are no safes or refrigerators in the rooms. We did have a hair dryer & iron/ironing board however."

"This is the third time we have stayed here and previously had an excellent room, especially for the price. This time, we were 'upgraded', and although there was a new shower in the bathroom, the bed was directly under the window and an overight security light outside shone under and around the curtains as well as directly into the bathroom and therefore under the door and then into the bedroom. Not only this, but the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, which had not been the case on our previous stays. I am listing these issues as I believe management does check out reviews and need to be made aware of this."

"Excellent location right in the centre of Carlisle, and with albeit limited parking being a real bonus. Slightly tired room, but with evidence of past grandeur it felt like quality. Very good breakfast and very helpful front desk staff made our overnight stay an excellent choice. Will definitely come again if circumstances allow."

"We loved our brief stay! Perfect for a stopover on the long drive from Sussex to Scotland. Ideally situated and clean with friendly staff and great facilities. The restaurant food was excellent, too - we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Our children loved their bunk beds in our room! Will almost certainly visit again."
