"Disappointed with room service, new biscuits put into dirty mugs ! No new tea/coffee and bin left in front of bed. Rushed job ? However, massive plus was staff attitude in dining room, dinner and breakfast excellent."

"This is not a complaint but I think the hotel should have air conditioning. As it was very hot in my room and in the corridors. There was a fan supplied. But I found the window quite difficult to open."

"Amazing experience to stay in a castle. We stayed in the Radcliffe Suite, so spacious and grand. The bathroom was huge! With a sauna! The bed was super comfy. My husband and I had dinner from the fine dining menu and our son was able to order from the relaxed dining menu which was great. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was equally wonderful, and my husband was very happy to see kippers as a menu choice. All in all we couldn’t fault a thing and really enjoyed our stay. The only bad thing was we only were able to stay one night."

"The room was great value, Friendly staff, clean comfy bed etc Only issue which was my fault for not doing my homework, I hadn`t realized the hotel was on the Gretna services and not in Gretna Green its self! it was to far to walk safely to have a look around and a drink. But other than that great place for an overnight stop while on your way up or down Scotland/England."

"This place is really nice We got a good deal through Booking. Com Appartment was Lovely But kitchen was short of bits But I got a shock opening Dishwasher The inside racks Were shocking All rusty And falling apart Needs new racks"

"For what we paid for the room we were not expecting much, from the outside and communal area it looked like its in need of some TLC but we recieved a lovely welcome from reception all reception staff were very friendly, we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room, nice big room, seats to sit, places to put clothes, clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a wonderful nights sleep some lovely little touches like tea cofee and biscuits plastic cups, we had booked breakfast also not expecting much for what we paid i can not fault the choices and it was very tasty. About a 20 min walk to the town centre but we could have caught a bus at the bottom of the street. We would recommend and would stay again "
