Very nice place to stay- needed somewhere as visiting elderly relative in care home. Very clean room and bathroom, great facilities and great breakfast. Recommended

A lovely place to stay. Nice rooms, nice pub and nice food. Would certainly recommend those looking in the area. I attended a wedding at Braxted Park which was a short drive away but did not get a chance to check out the area around the property hence only average stars for that. Staff are very friendly too. Will certainly choose to stay here if in the area again.

There is no lift to upper floor rooms. The main access is via a steep spiral staircase that can present a hazzard for the elderly and infirm with luggage to carry.

Really nice hotel, lovely staff in a beautiful town. However i think if you arrive 90 mins before check in and your room is ready £20 is a tad steep. So after returning from day out manager had to leave busy bar to help with luggage which was in his office. Surely if she had just given me the available room, this could have been avoided. I would have paid £10 like Travelodge up the road. Never £20.

Lovely room. We booked it last minute and arrived just after 10pm. reception closes at 10pm but we got lucky as the staff were still around, not sure what we would have done otherwise but it should say online when you book

Superior room was far from. Floor out of level despite age. Towel rad in bathroom didnt work & freezing. Didn't get fixed & lied to by Manager twice about handyman coming to fix it.Lunch was poor. Dried up mash & soggy broccoli
