Second wonderful stay at the Crown - Fantastic room with rolltop bath, separate shower, lovely big comfortable bed and plenty of space. Very welcoming and friendly staff but beware the stairs! Right in the centre of this beautiful old market town with numerous independent shops, restaurants and pubs, so we'll definitely be back...

Paul and his team delivered again. We were made to feel so welcome, as always, and the staff's sense of commitment was relentless. This is a real gem of a place...we will be back...soon

Excellent service at the Candlestick hotel, food was great, all home cooked, highly recommended eating there, chef was brilliant.

From the moment of our arrival we where made to feel very much at home. All rooms are exquisitely furnished and extremely comfortable. The main sitting room has beautiful views over Rutland waters. I believe we most probably had the best meal we ever had in England. The chef deserves at least three Michelin stars. Dominique chose some excellent wines for us, he certainly knows his job. Beautiful stay, very friendly made to feel very welcome. Large room and large lounge with free wifi. Comfortable bed. Local pub serves excellent food. I would recommend to friends family and colleagues.

I was very pleased with everything generally. The staff were excellent & nothing was too much trouble. The tv in my room wasn`t working, but it was fixed very quickly whilst we were dining & the staff member went out of their way to find me to say he had fixed it.

Disabled double room was no bigger than a normal double room. Manoeuvring a wheel-chair around the foot of the bed was difficult and meant squeezing past the TV stand. Could not get wheel-chair along side of the bed, so had to use the other side. Shower/WC room too small to use washbasin from wheel-chair without it sticking out into the bedroom and unable to close bathroom door. Similarly lack of space made it impossible to use WC without wheel-chair sticking out into the bedroom and unable to...

Beautiful grounds surround this mix of well planned old and modern hotel. A very pleasant place to stay.

Loved room. LOVED dove hair and body wash as forgot shampoo and it was amazing. Room service not great. No answer and took ages for a wrap. I was on a quick turnaround with work so this was quite stressful. But check in staff made it work. Amazing lunch next day. Lovely staff and delicious food.

Birthday weekend away for my husband, and they even did a birthday surprise for him. Can't believe this is a 5 ⭐️ Hotel. Great food great monthly wines and ales. Highly recommend

We loved the feel of the place , it was like been on holiday sitting outside in the courtyard drinking freshly made coffee . The staff went above and beyond and were very helpful and friendly . We will be going back .
