This hotel was our favourite out of the 8 we stayed in on our trip. Very old, beautiful building. Staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. Comfortable bed (finally). Breakfast was fresh and delicious. So glad we found it and the town was just a gorgeous little seaside town that was all walkable from hotel. Highly recommend.
clean, staff are very helpful it was a one night stay but it was a good experience. the only thing was that there was a pazar and it was really noisy in the morning
Lovely boutique hotel in an old restored building on a quiet street very close to shopping, restaurants, and waterfront. The staff was so welcoming and patient with our almost non-existent Turkish. The owner does speak English and was a great help with directions, bus schedule, and recommendations. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, served in a pleasant courtyard. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and WiFi worked well.
We were greeted by Elhan. The location would have been tricky to get too, but elhan reached out to us ahead of time and gave us clear instructions. He also gave us great recommendations on what to see and do in the area. The place is beautiful, and we felt transported into the past. It’s very fitting for the location. Breakfast was excellent. Service was excellent. We definitely will be staying here next time we find ourselves in Ayvalik.
The Olea Leya was a lovely place to stay for two nights in May. A nicely renovated room and clean bathroom with lots of natural light meant we were comfortable and the location of the hotel allowed us to easily walk wherever we wanted.
Our view towards the neighboring restaurant and garden was magnificent and breakfast at the Olea Leya was excellent and is cozy inside and relaxing outside on their own patio.
Having parking at the hotel is unusual for being centrally located and a big plus.
Only one comment and one critique: this is an old home that while thoughtfully renewed, is not as soundproof as a concrete building, meaning you’ll probably hear your neighbors above or below and they’ll hear you. It wasn’t an issue for us, just be aware. The only minor challenge is a typical one for here - the drain in the floor in the bathroom in many cases allows odors to come up.
Otherwise our stay was great and I recommend the Oleya Leya wholeheartedly.
Lovely small hotel centrally located in the old town where it is easy to walk everywhere. Very clean, generous and delicious breakfast and awesome host.
Highly recommended
This is a very unique historical building located in the old town. Rooms are spacious and eclectic with exposed brick and high ceilings. Staff were attentive and responsive. Located within walking distance to the harbor. Driving in was a bit of a bottleneck as roads were narrow and windy, but there is a parking lot adjacent to the hotel. Overall an excellent stay for a short stay in Ayvalik.

Ayvalik
At center of Ayvalik but in a quiet location. The room was authentic, not too big, not too small either. However overpriced for what was offered. Breakfast starts very late at 09:00. We had to leave earlier so even though it was included in price, the host was not prepared to offer us earlier or provide a discount. The car park is small but functional but you have to drive through very narrow roads to get to hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Olea. The room was very clean, spacious, private, and quiet and you can immediately feel at home as soon as you enter. The 140-year-old building has this amazing energy. It is located in the center of the historic area. We had a nice view to Ayvalik old town. The historic buildings, churches and mosques are just a couple of minutes' walk away, and so are the market and cornice.
The staff and management were super friendly. They offered us very good recommendations for local restaurants, island tours and the Sarimsakli beach. The breakfast was rich with local homemade jams, cheese, honey, and Ayvalik's famous olives, among many other traditional Turkish breakfast options. When the staff knew we were vegetarian, they took extra effort to prepare vegan dishes and salads even without us asking.
If you are arriving by your own car, I recommend leaving it in the car park during your stay and walk or use local transportation instead of having to drive through the very narrow streets of old Ayvalik every day.
Overall, it was a very nice stay and a very welcoming and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
We stopped for a night in Ayvalik on our way to Bodrum, to break the drive south. We had heard that Ayvalik was a pretty town away from the tourist centers and it was exactly that - and finding this gorgeous little BandB made the stop even more special.
Dariya was a fabulous host, her dinner recommendation was on point, swimming/hiking recommendations amazing, and the hotel itself was so special.
The whole building is so charming, renovated so tastefully with beautiful wide wooden floorboards and pretty copper features and sparkling new bathrooms.
The location was perfect - close enough to be an easy stroll through pretty alleys to get to the port for sunset mezzes, and far enough back from the noise to sleep well. There’s the slightest hill to get up, nothing that would have you out of breath.
Breakfast was generous and delicious - beautiful traditional Turkish food featuring the local olives and olive oil along with excellent fitters, eggs, cheeses and honey and fruit. It was made even better with the gorgeous courtyard it was served in, beautiful flowering vines around high whitewashed walls and sturdy wooden furniture - this is a really classy little place.
It will leave us with many happy memories of Ayvalik. We’re already planning to bring our friends on our next trip.
