"Everything about The George was very good but it is obviously in the midst of much needed renovations. I felt very sad because I grew up in the area and it was always such a popular hotel. However, we enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very helpful. Dinner was good, despite having to wait quite a long time for it. Good luck to the owners for the future and hope that the renovations go well."

"Lovely traditional hotel. Receptionist was extremely efficient and friendly. Room was as expected, clean but a little tired in places owing to the age of the building. Lovely fluffy white towels. Breakfast Was excellent with a range to suit all dietary requirements. Would I stay here again ? Yes ! "

"Hotel was in a great location close to main routes to Darlington and Middlesbrough. It was also close to Teeside Park which has an array of shops, a cinema and lots of eating options. The hotel was modern and clean with a good gym, check in was seamless and the staff were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay there again! "
