"Accomodation on the very edge of town. Roads to it very poor with numerous huge pot holes, if i hadn't been driving a 4x4 i would have turned back! Apartment on the first floor accessed via unmanned communal hall, staircase and landing with numerous apartments of them. Whilst we saw no-one in these areas in our comings and goings, my partner commented that she felt unsafe and would not leave the apartment without me. "The Ferry Inn is a combination hotel/pub with breakfast included on our booking. We ate dinner both nights in the pub restaurant. The food was good & they had several choices for each course. The location was excellent for the Scrabaster/Stromness ferry & it was easy to navigate to Kirkwall & all the sights."

"What a wonderful stay.. Graham, Sarah and Claire were such lovely hosts nothing to much trouble very accommodating from checking in to checking out.. Breakfast was excellent each morning cooked to order and evening meals were fantastic especially the fish and chips and homemade tartar sauce was so yummy.. The rooms are clean with lovely bedding and fantastic views of the beautiful island.. Can't wait to go back.. "

"A lovely little hotel for a one night stop. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Our room was pleasant, on the ground floor, very clean with a comfortable bed. We ate in for dinner which was very good, good choice, also choice for vegetarians, and the portions were very good. Breakfast was a simple but good buffet. Very happy with our stay. "

"We booked online last minute called up to say we would arrive in 30 minutes, the staff was very eel and helpful. We was shown to our room then went down for an evening meal, the food was excellent and we was made to feel as part of the family, it is a lovely warm feel place with lovely people and the rooms was amazing the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful we would highly recommend staying in the Manor and meeting this lovely family it’s one of the best I have ever stayed in."

"This was just an overnight after driving up from Dornoch and getting on the ferry to Orkney at Gills Bay the next morning. However Eilean and Graeme greeted us in the parking area and helped us move into our room. Provided us with lots of info on their property and where to eat. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast in the morning had lots of variety and our choices were delicious. "
