"Lovely hotel and great location within the city"
Faultless stay in a wonderful city. The hotel was excellent and there was nothing we could fault - nice gardens, rooms, location and bar prices that were cheaper than the local pubs!

"Lovely hotel but............."
This hotel was very good, with excellent facilities, food etc, but from 5.30am our room, being on Market Street, was very noisy with deliveries, rubbish collections etc. and sleep was virtually impossible after that time.

    Pocket Guide: Hampshire Winchester Hotels

The ancient capital of England, and once the seat of King Alfred, historic Winchester is famous for its magnificent cathedral begun in 1079, and venerable Winchester College founded in 1382. The picturesque area around the Cathedral Green has changed little over the centuries, and offers good places to eat, drink and shop. A short walk across the water meadows, the 12th-century Hospital of St Cross is England’s most perfectly preserved almshouse.
