Property seemed of done some renovations but looks like they went with the lowest lowest bidder. Toilet had no pressure to flush. Bathroom floor and tub were sloped. Elevator would breakdown here and there. Carpet in hallway was dingy.

Property was good , elevator was no working in the morning. I told the guys and they answered rude ! They coup find my name in the computer they have wrong but they fixed it ! So overall was a good experience ! 4 stars 😄😄

Great location but horrible "resort". They require a $300 hold, the hold will go towards the resort fee $39/night and parking $53 tax. Old and very small room, not worth the money I spent

Excellent location. On corner; short walks near everything. The amenities indicate beach towels and chairs-true. However, this beach area is five blocks away. Quite a walk AND it doesn't include umbrella--which was $55! What a joke. Parking is no where to be found - which they indicate there is parking--so opted for Valet at $50 a day--would be okay but Valet was never on time--missed a tour because of this delay. VIP is not accurate, everyone gets a free drink coupon. Nothing special for VIP members.

Didn’t specify pool access was limited to adults so had to book another hotel in addition to the 2 rooms I had with them for pool access. Also no air for 4 days! I got and gnats in the room because of the heat had to buy raid .

The front desk guy on Sunday 3/24 night was horrible so rude not accommodating at all. The lady and man with the locs very helpful and made up for their horrible coworker this was not my first stay here so I was shocked at how my family was treated after checking in on Sunday

The location was great but it was surrounded by young people dancing, smoking and drinking on the stairs which lead to the lobby. The bar was noisy and loud music all the time. We got the complimentary coffee and croissant but it felt like almsgiving, even though we ordered extra from the menu. The washroom was too small and while showering we had to be careful and put a towel down to stop the water from getting all over. There was no fridge in the room. :(

As much as it is a block away from South Beach, Would definitely not recommend if you’re looking for a decent hotel. At check in, there was no attendant at the desk. No bell, no sign indicating they would be right back. Tried calling the hotel thinking maybe someone was in the back officr, but the phone just rang and rang. After 8-10 mins, the front desk clerk showed up, no apologies for the wait, nothing. The rooms do not include basic amenities: no mini fridge or ice buckets. The faucet in the shower didnt work properly. U either got scalding hot water or just plain cold water. The knobs on the faucet also fell off. The front entrance of the hotel was constantly full of loiters which can be hazardous in case of an emergency, hotel management didnt seem to be proactive with this issue. Guests were screaming & running down the hallways in the middle of the night, called the front desk, issue was never addressed.

Beauce at reception was very welcoming and kind. He upgraded us to a suite in the courtyard! Very large room with a sitting area and huge soaker tub! A lil porch with a table and chairs facing the courtyard! Very cute!

Essex House was very nice. Kind of an older building and rooms aren’t real big but it’s located in a great part of Miami Beach. I would stay here again. Only thing I would say they need is microwave in room or a small fridge. No complaints!

Terrific, walkable location in Miami Beach. Very spacious, nicely appointed room but would love to have had a microwave. Room was clean overall but the floor needed to be mopped. Staff was helpful and accommodated our request for a late check out.

Bathroom door wouldnt stay shut & broken. Only 1 bathrob for 2 guest, tv didnt work. Not much light except for bathroom. Door would stick & have to push/shove our door after keys. Rooms are not sound proof as stated.
