"This is a lovely old tavern with comfortable accommodation. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful, and it is in a great location. There are plenty of references to the White Star Line, in particular the Titanic, which was very interesting. The food was nice, especially breakfast, and there was even a pub quiz on our second night which we really enjoyed. We stayed here for three nights before joining a cruise. "The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained."
