"Very nice restaurant below me, very friendly staff, clean room. I really appreciated the care the staff had for every detail. Smooth check in and out. As a female travelling alone I felt very safe and never had any sketchy experiences. "

"Seems newly renovated, everything very clean and updated, just the door of elevator from inside seems old, hot water machine, entertainment room for hockey,.room very clean and modern, only unfortunately no hot water supply in the evening due to some mechical problem , but found it is fixed in the morning, although not convenience but accident happens manager gives us some compensation for the next stay, overall is a good experience"

"The Empress Hotel was excellent, as always. However, the surrounding area has deteriorated to the point that it no longer feels safe to walk the streets. There is now open drug use in the area, and we saw needles as well as used Naloxone kits very close to the hotel. We used to visit Victoria and the Empress regularly, but I cannot recommend a trip based on our most recent experience."
