"Surpassed reviews/expectations"
Prince cafe has an amazing chef specializing in French and Thai dishes! He or she made food that would rival any food in Paris and at a fraction of the cost! Room was a little worn but big and comfortable with free bottled water and 24/7 room service including alcohol. Prices vary throughout hotel but same drinks menu. Pools were big and clean and mall underneath was cheap and convenient only bought t-shirts though. Staff excellent and friendly as long as you are!

"Incredible Hotel with Wonderful People!"
Staying in Bangkok over the winter vacation was a delight, made all the more special by this beautiful, elegant, and yet still simple hotel. The staff were friendly and supportive, the view from our balcony was very bangkok, and the breakfast was amazing (which was the highlight for me). The only downside was the location. Taxi drivers in Bangkok are generally not helpful to foreigners, which makes it all the more difficult to get to this hotel. Though not a terrible location (about a 20 minute walk to Kaosan Rd.) it's not easy to find, but when you do it's worth it to spend a few nights in this one of a kind lodging. It can't be said enough how friendly and helpful the staff are (especially the manager), the only thing that I can give back to them for my magical stay is to rate their unique and fun getaway spot a perfect 5 out of 5. Well done SSIP! It would be a pleasure to spend my time in Thailand under your roof sometime in the near future.

"Extremely friendly staff"
I cannot fault the ultra-friendly staff at this hotel. They went over and above to ensure we had a pleasant stay. My only complaint is the slightly dated bathroom but it was very clean.

"Hidden oasis"
This was one the most best motels I've ever stayed at the food from the kitchen was wonderful the room was air conditioned, staff were very friendly and helpful. Was nice to relax in the beautiful cafe setting after a day of madness in Bangkok. They also had very reasonable tours available at reception. I will definitely be returning here on my next trip.

"Conveniently located hotel"
We stayed here several nights while exploring Bangkok. The hotel was well located for us. It is on a canal, but that canal is not used by the ferries. It is just a few blocks from the river and then a short walk to one of the river ferry docks. We took the river and canal ferries several times to get around that part of town, where most of the sights are. The hotel arranged for a canal tour for us and that was interesting. Otherwise we didn't use the hotel tour desk and I am not sure that they had the best selection of tours besides some of the standard ones. We walked several times the few blocks down to the Kosan rd area. The street above it and below it are the better options for shopping. Coming back from the weekend market we took the sky train to the river and then the river ferry to the dock nearest the hotel.

"Good hotel in downtown Bangkok"
The hotel itself is a well maintained property with all the amenities you could ask for and the staff were really helpful. It is walkable to the Kho San Road so it's in a good location. The only drawback was the surrounding area is a little ramshackle.

Pocket Guide: Bangkok Old Town - Khao San 3 stars Hotels

Unsurprisingly, the Old City, or Ko Rattanakosin, is packed with treasures and history. High on any sightseeing list should be the striking Grand Palace, which incorporates Thailand’s most sacred site, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (don’t forget to dress modestly and cover feet). Also recommended are the National Museum and Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho), which is 150 feet (46 meters) long and set on 20 acres.
