My stay at the Semiramis InterContinental Cairo was extremely disappointing. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, the behavior of most of the security staff completely ruined my experience. From the moment I arrived, the security staff were rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. Every time my driver came to pick me up, they created unnecessary problems, refused to let him stop at the hotel entrance, and spoke to us in a disrespectful manner instead of treating hotel guests with courtesy and professionalism. The worst incident happened in the hotel lobby. Many guests around me were openly smoking, yet a security guard approached only me, told me I was not allowed to smoke, and told me I would have to pay a $70 fine. When I pointed out that many other guests were smoking in the same area, he simply insisted that the rule applied only to me. I felt unfairly singled out and treated differently from everyone else. Immediately afterward, I went to the reception desk and asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to file a formal complaint about the way I had been treated. I waited for a long time, but no manager ever came to speak with me. No one apologized, no one followed up, and no one seemed interested in listening to a paying guest’s concerns. That level of indifference is completely unacceptable for a luxury five-star hotel. I was also asked to leave my seat in the café so another customer could sit
