"This is a new type of a Japanese "Ryokan", mostly self-services. Quiet area and much cheaper than other typical "Ryokan" in the town. Yet, I enjoyed one of the private-room onsen. "

"It was so pleasure for us to stay and experience Japanese culture in the hotel. Very surprised with their friendlyness- so nice and kind. Driver Ken was the nicest person we've ever met. He made the day for us, and he also made the high ratings of this hotel.

"Hotel is fine ( very good for 2 stars ). They have private Onsens, which is great. Resturant staff were amazing in catering a vegetarian meal(s) for my wife. "

"I love that this hotel was completely different than what I expected. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised by the bed & breakfast style of the hotel and the nostalgic memorabilia displayed throughout the hotel as well. The staff was very informative and accommodating to my needs while speaking english. I felt right at home. The free hot chocolate was delicious which I sipped graciously in the living room after a hot soak in the private onsen. I had such a relaxing experience. I am looking forward to visiting Yufuin again and returning to this hotel! "
"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."
"A wonderful experience to stay in this boutique ryokan. Imaishi San helped us on checking in, and introduced the all facilities. He also served us the Yufu Kabosu drink during the night cafe hours. The breakfast was really delicious and delightful."
