Royal Maritime Hotel, BW Signature Collection

"Breakfast very poor. Quality of food poor, sausages undercooked, bacon swimming in grease, fried eggs hard. Had to ask for milk, tea spoons and hot water. Coffee and hot water pot not labelled. Tables not cleaned and small bin over flowing. Room fan and 2 table lights not working . Shower gel empty on arrival. No information in room about hotel all done on a QR code.which is not practical for all."

"From start to finish the stay at this venue was one of the worst I've experienced. We were staying as a wedding party and were told that we didn't need to book for dinner as there were ample people on hand to accommodate. Turned out there was 1 bar staff and one chef so they could only take 5 orders at a time and you then had to wait for another 15 minutes before the next 5 could order. In the end half our party left to go and get food elsewhere as after an hour and a half most still had not even ordered food. The manager admitted this was still being used as an asylum hotel and they had skeleton staff. We didn't book breakfast due to the extortionate price, however, we did go down and sit with the family. Breakfast should of been from 0630 - 1030 but didn't open until 0720 and shut just after 9 on both days due to staffing issues. Added to this, there were no bowls for cereal, the food was awful and to top things off one of the party found a metal screw in his beans! I would recommend hotels.com remove this hotel from their site until it gets itself sorted as it is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in"

"Room on top floor clan and tidy, complementary bottle of water, tea, coffee etc. Plenty of parking outside no issues registering the details Lovely friendly staff on front reception especially Carly, great evening meal recommendations. Would have been nice to be able to order a cocktail when we got back from our event but they stopped at 11pm Loved the allergen card in the restaurant for the evening meal. Would have been nice to have the allergen information for breakfast ( it’s a medical condition not a choice for me ) Would I stay there again ? Yes I would "

"Hotel staff and concierge were great. Breakfast was excellent for a buffet. The restaurant and pub seemed to have staffing problems and were not attentive. The facility is showing it's age, however. Still, it was convenient to the mall for shopping. A little to far to walk to the Horizon cruise terminal with any luggage, but the concierge hooked us up with a taxi."

"After reading recent reviews we brought our own bedding thankfully. First impressions on entering the property was that it was basically an MRO or like a Uni accommodation. The carpets were fairly new which was something. We were in room 22 right at the top of the house which was ok. We entered the key code in to the room but basically a good hard shove would have probably opened it. Well Stripped back the duvet from the beds to find p…. Hair on one of them. So we we were t going to use that one as there were only 2 of us. There were crumbs over the chair. We didn’t think it had been cleaned but turns out it had been. I switched the fan but It was hanging on by a wire and the noise!!. Sent a text to get a new fan but that didn’t come. The beds were lumpy. Springs missing. We moved one of the mattresses on top of the bed that we were not going to use by the window as we would have not been able to breathe in the night. The bed base was broke and there was a small plastic bag on it. Obvious what that was used for. There was a kettle and tea and coffee that was the best bit about it. The carpet was clean so we felt ok to put our bags on it. The bathroom would of been ok if the tap wasn’t broken and there was no hot water from the tap or shower!! Tv did not work and shower tray filled up with water. Loft cover was open so we worried about someone jumping out. Pictures show towels but there weren’t any, we always bring our own but total false advertising"

"All the staff we came into contact with were excellent and very accomodating. Good choice of food at a reasonable price from the bar. Choice & quality of breakfast items was good. Room is a little dated but comfortable. Biggest downside is teh lack of air conditioning."
