Great castle but i was double charged...
The Castle experience per se was great,but it was surprising that at checkout i was asked to pay for the stay although I already prepaid for it via hotels.com I ended up disputing the charge and getting a lecture by my credit card collection department on how to blame hotel.com rather than the hotel owner, which was clearly wrong as I never ran into such situation with hotels.com so i trust them way more than credit cards operators and shady hotels owners

We sent the refund the same day Expedia contacted us, on the 20th of July... and we are talking about 85 Euros. I personally think it is really unfair to rate us 4/10 for a stay that you are admitting as being a great experience. Castello ulula...
Bellissima location in castello medievale.Le stanze pulite, il bagno moderno anche se nel rispetto della struttura esistente. Unica pecca faceva un po' freddino e non c'era il piumone ma una semplice coperta in pile sul letto. Problema ovviato con termostato personale in stanza. Anche nel bagno, oltre ai prodotti di cortesia, era presente una stufetta elettrica per riscaldare l'ambiente. Per il resto posto magnifico. Sembrava di stare in un'altra era.

Posto favoloso, un vero castello! Si può salire sulla torre e dopo una settantina di scalini si ha una vista panoramica sui colli circostanti, perfetta per godersi un bel tramonto. Abbiamo soggiornato una notte di settembre e il giorno precedente ci è stato mandato un messaggio dal gestore del castello per chiederci se volevamo cenare nella corte del castello (cena su prenotazione con menù fisso dall'antipasto al dolce a 30 €). Siamo stati fortunati che quella sera abbiano organizzato la cena, eravamo una quindicina di persone ed è stato davvero intimo e suggestivo.

Fantastic castle as it was 860 years ago
The castle is lovely, it's a real 12th century historical site quite far from the nearest village (unless you drive there by car). It looks like it's a fantastic place to hide from the rest of the world at summer. Unfortunately, at winter it's quite chilly in the room (which is a peculiarity of all castles I guess) and you won't be able to enjoy outdoor facilities as much as you could when it's warmer. The host is very friendly and helpful. All in all, I recommend you to check out the castle, especially during warmer months.

The castle is restored in a very nice way. The room we had had a decent and harmonious interiour. It is perfectly feasible for a relaxing stay. Around the castle there are many interesting villages with medieval history to visit. For a special dinner a tasty homemade meal with local products and wine was served in a very nice atmosphere of the (small) old knights hall.

Beau chateau mais chambre très décevante !
Petite chambre, très sombre et très bruyante : 1er étage qui donne sur cours à éviter pour ces raisons ! Le chateau est magnifique mais les prestations en tant qu'hôtel ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix que je juge élevé. Relativement éloigné de tous les sites (Gubbio, Assise...)

Castello vero è proprio, con una antica storia alle spalle, molto ben tenuto, ubicato in cima ad una collina costeggiata da prati dove Regna la quiete. Camere arredate a tema e molto confortevoli. Colazione ottima e Stefano, il gestore, persona splendida e disponibile. Bello anche il maneggio a fianco per eventuali passeggiate

Nice place high up on a hill. Lovely room, like living in a medieval castle. We took the bus and it was difficult to find the right bus stop which resulted in a longer walk than expected. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Al Castello.
A pochi minuti di macchina da Valfabbrica, il castello si trova in una posizione collinare e tranquilla. Buona la pulizia , la camera era dotata di vasca idromassaggio. Buona e varia la colazione. Ottimo qualità prezzo.

Bellissimo castello, un'esperienza difficile da di
Arriviamo al castello Durante un temporale terribile. Il castello ci accoglie nelle persone di Paola e Stefano, molto professionali e molto gentili. Il castello da subito mostra la sua bellezza e accoglienza. Le mura forti e solide attutiscono il temporale e sembra di essere veramente immersi in un altro tempo. Finito il temporale possiamo scaricare le nostre valigie, e ad accoglierci una camera da "castello". Ampia, pulita, arredata senza eccessi ma con tutti i confort, prodotti di cortesia presenti (comprese le ciabatte), il bagno grande e pulito. La camera fa sentire a proprio agio, con un'ampia finestra che da al cortile esterno, e le storiche feritoie che danno quel sapore di antico (ottima la ristrutturazione che ha lasciato i particolari intatti). La sera facciamo una passeggiata nel piccolo borgo, anche questo da la sensazione di essere veramente in un altro mondo, la calma, la tranquillità, il silenzio, gli odori. Alla sera ci viene servita la possibilità di cenare al castello, e noi accettiamo volentieri. Qui notiamo la differenza con altri hotel: tavolata unica, in cui diventa impossibile non intessere relazione con il vicino a tavola. Stefano ci accompagna con i suoi racconti e le sue esperienze, dentro la vita del castello. La sera del giorno dopo approfittiamo della presenza della piscina, per un pomeriggio in totale relax.Prima di partire si visita la torre da dove si può mozzafia un paesaggio mozzafiato. Si visita la chiesetta piccola ma bellissima.

Tre metri sopra il cielo
Il castello è molto bello,Stefano lo gestisce con amore e passione, abbiamo visitato con lui torre e chiesetta. Buona la colazione ma vestitevi perché le temperature nelle sale comuni sono basse è pur sempre un castello :-) Vicino locande e ristoranti per cenare ottimi! Torneremo in estate

In compagnia di un simpatico fantasma
Arrivati al castello siamo rimasti senza parole per la bellezza del luogo, per l'atmosfera magica che si respira, per la struttura stessa elegantemente e semplicemente restaurata da dare l'impressione di vivere in un'epoca remota, come un salto temporale che dà il brivido dell'avventura. Tutto pulito e confortevole risulta poi ancora più luminoso se ti fermi a parlare con chi vi abita, chi lavora nella struttura quotidianamente tanto da conoscerne angoli suggestivi e intrisi di mistero. Si dice vi abiti un fantasma di nome Gastaldo, gentile con chi lo rispetta e rispetta gli spazi del castello, altrimenti delicatamente dispettoso si diverte a fare scherzetti. Personalmente in tutto il soggiorno di quattro notti l'ho intravisto solo la prima sera, sorridente e con la mano aperta in segno di saluto lo si intravedeva nel riflesso del vetro di una finestra poi cortesemente è sparito. Prima di partire abbiamo notato un'altra finestra del castello curiosamente appannata solo su un'anta, A noi piaceva pensare fosse un saluto del simpatico fantasma. In ogni caso al di là di ogni leggenda e immaginazione il luogo è senza dubbio affascinante e grazie alla gentilezza di Stefano, l'attuale gestore, si può perfino visitare l'alta torretta per ammirare spettacolari tramonti. Lì sopra davvero il tempo sembra sospendersi in un eternità di pace e bellezza. Gastaldo probabilmente torneremo presto a trovarti!

Sempre di entrare in una favola
Volendo fare un giro in zona,ho prenotato al Castello di Giomici.Dato che siamo arrivati quando già era buio,l'abbiamo visto dalla strada ,sulla collina di fronte ,tutto illuminato.....molto suggestivo.Anche all'interno molto curato nei particolari.....bellissimo...andate a vederlo...

Un'esperienza splendida. Una location troppo affascinante. Dormire in un castello è stato bellissimo. Svegliarsi poi con tutto il verde intorno poi... Abbiamo anche avuto la possibilità di visitare velocemente il borghetto e la torre!! Da dove si vede tutta la valle. Bellissimo. La colazione con servizio a tavola. L'unica pecca è la scarsa insonorizzazione delle porte delle camere, bastano due chiacchiere in corridoio ed il sonno è perso in quanto le porte non filtrano praticamente nulla.

Un posto meraviglioso
E' un vero castello, risalente a prima dell'anno 1000, anche se poi è ristrutturato e arredato come un albergo di lusso. Stefano ci ha portato in giro per il castello, siamo saliti sulla torre che domina la vallata, ci ha mostrato il borgo e ci ha aperto la chiesa con gli affreschi del 1400. dalle foto si vede che è un posto stupendo, ma una volta lì è ancora meglio se possibile. Colazione stupenda, con pane, torte e marmellate, tutto fatto in casa
