Udaipur City Palace is the most visited attraction in the city, and is a large complex of palaces, museums and gardens. It is a beautiful complex that rises 30 metres above Lake Pichola and is made entirely out of marble and granite. The luxurious Fateh Prakash Palace is located within the Udaipur City Palace.
The artificial Fateh Sagar Lake was constructed in 1876 and boasts three small islands, with the largest being home to Nehru Park. Lake Pichola is also an artificial lake in Udaipur that was created in 1362 and is home to the lavish Taj Lake Palace that sits on an island and is accessible by speedboat. The hotel has been voted as the most romantic property in India and has been used in numerous films, including the James Bond film Octopussy.
Around 150 metres from the City Palace lies the Jagdish Temple, an Indo-Aryan architectural style Hindu temple that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
