Gorgeous area and hotel. Hotel was quiet and smelled amazing. Great onsen options and spa options. Lush town within easy walking distance. Gorgeous views from the room.

Great hotel with a lovely Italian restaurant

Lovely hotel with newly renovated rooms and public areas. Very friendly and helpful staff, most speak English. Great welcome on arrival with little snack and drink! The complementary shuttle service was awesome, if it was the pick up from the Shinkansen, the drop off to go skiing or the ride to a restaurant for dinner, there’s always a car available to take you around! Wish we would have stayed longer than just two nights! We will be back if time allows!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sakurai. We booked the top floor suites, which came with several extra benefits. The room was very large and well laid out, with a kitchen, a bathroom with a jacuzzi and stunning view, two bedrooms, and a living area. We were taken straight to our room by a concierge when we checked in, which was a nice touch. The view was excellent — you could see the town centre from the room. Fabulous, if I’m to comment on one thing it would be that check in was very slow. Otherwise it was stunning . Food was wonderful.

They have lot of shuttle bus between main building to small wooden house. Waiting time less than 5min. Room is clean and good wifi quality.

What an amazing place this is. As soon as you check in you're given a welcome matcha tea and sweet treats. The dining area has free flavoured water and hot drinks 247 and the breakfast was so tasty. They even catered for vegetarians. The room was gorgeous. Tatami mats covered the floor with a beautiful seating area with tea and a kettle for you to use in the room. It is a really excellent hotel with wonderful staff. The room was very good.

There was a shuttle expecting us outside Yudanaka station, even though it's just a 6min walk to the hotel, but much appreciated when you're carrying bags. The place is beautiful and the private onsen: AMAZING (indoor and outdoor). Breakfast was a nice varied Buffet and loved the provided yukatas. Would definitely go back!

A bit of a culture change for the uninitiated, but this hotel is incredible. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are just lovely and served in a traditional environment that sets you up for the day. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

Was a most wonderful and relaxing experience. Only the fact that the indoor pool is closed for the whole month of June was disappointing.
