Splendid historic manse with large bedroom, private bathroom and lovely quiet location. A comfortable two night stay provided by a lovely host serving up a terrific breakfast and great advice for enjoying the countryside and historic houses close by.

The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk.

Extremely accommodating, amazing property, perfect host. Genuinely what a perfect little find! Also the breakfast is to die for!! As were the scones!!

Fabulous 3 nights spent at this enchanting bed and breakfast country house. We were well and truly spoilt by Mrs Hughes, her home cooked breakfast was sensational. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully presented.

We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Elizabeth Ann was very accommodating and fitted in with our arrangements. The breakfast was fantastic comprising of local grown produce. We felt completely safe throughout our stay, COVID-19 rules and guidance observed, cleanliness given high importance. We intend returnIng in 2021 To explore the area further and would have no hesitation staying at Scaurbridge House, Thornhill, Penpont.

A lovely home from home, very comfortable with thoughtful touches. Food was outstanding and Elizabeth Anne couldn't do enough for you. The Guest House is a lovely house in beautiful countryside. One comment there was wifi but no television. This was fine for us but may influence another guest. Thank you Elizabeth Anne we will be back

Absolutely wonderful stay!

Home owner Elizabeth was an absolute GEM! Her hospitality, conversation and warmth was remarkable. Her home is stunning and very reminiscent of a true Scottish countryside homestead. Our room was very spacious and the bed, extremely comfortable. Elizabeth was very attentive; her goal was truly to ensure we had an amazing experience in her home. And, we did!! Breakfast was beyond delicious. We enjoyed a full spread of traditional Scottish specialties. Elizabeth even baked home made scones!! If we ever return to the area, we will definitely stay at Scaurbridge House. We can’t say enough great things about our memorable experience. Thanks so much, Elizabeth!!!!
