The Famous Star Hotel was comfortable and clean and quirky being so narrow, but still spacious and practical rooms. Breakfast provided excellent choice of cooked along with various cereals to choose from. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is a lovely wee quirky hotel. The room was surprisingly large considering how narrow the hotel is! The bed was really comfortable. The Scottish breakfast was cooked to order, tasty and generous. Staff were lovely. Only thing to bear in mind is that the restaurant & bar don’t stay open late, so plan accordingly in the evening. Other really convenient aspect is that street parking is free.

When booking I saw that the big room was available and that's what I picked as it overlooks the centre of Moffat . Being an older property it doesn't have a lift but I was able to manage the stairs quite well. It looks like it has had a refurb because the ensuite bathroom looked quite modern. We didn't have breakfast as we had made our minds to go out for the day on the Tuesday. Staff nice and friendly .

What a super little hotel! Upon arrival, we received a warm Scottish welcome and were shown up to our rooms. It may be the narrowest detached hotel in the world but the rooms aren't lacking in space. The following morning we had a good Scottish breakfast before heading north on our journey.
