One of those rare finds that you almost want to keep to yourself so you can always get a room.. :-) We booked only 3 hours before our 2 night stay so options were limited and we were a bit worried we'd be left with what no-one else wanted. Very friendly staff , gorgeous room with huge comfy bed! Mineral water ,luxury soap etc and hot chocolate for the kids!! Lovely breakfast and wonderful service ! The staff were really friendly and approachable. The meal I had was one of the best I've had in a long while. The room was really clean with a Nespresso coffee machine which for me was a really nice touch as I love my coffee. The shower was lovely and hot. I was looking for a one night stay close to Diss for the 2017 Organ Festival. I searched on proximity and price and Hazel Barn met my requirements. For a bed and breakfast Hazel Barn far exceeded my expectations. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast provided was absolutely superb. We loved our stay in the Abbey Hotel and apartments, the staff, breakfast & attention to detail were amazing. Very easy walk into the town centre with its unique shops, pubs & restaurants, also not forgetting the Cathedral & Abbey Gardens. Bury St Edmunds is a must to visit.

Charming, centuries old country pub with not a straight beam in the place. Our room was large, characterful, spotless and comfortable. Decent pub grub delivered with especially warm and friendly service.

A warm and welcoming stay in the heart of Ely in a lovely pub. The room was gorgeous, beautifully decorated, felt like a bijou apartment, and the bed very cosy indeed with sumptuous bedding. Very quiet, surprising for a pub on a high street . The bar downstairs is cosy with a large menu if needed. The breakfast menu also looked good but we didn’t partake. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Lovely pub with rooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was cosy and quiet. We had breakfast and dinner, both of which were excellent. Parking was no problem and the pub provided a good base for exploring Cambridge and the Fens.

We cannot think of any significant shortcomings about this hotel and enjoyed our four night break
