Bed was great and comfortable. Place was clean, safe, easy parking, nice staff. Drain in the shower barely drained and the shower curtain was way too long.

We booked over 12 months in advance for $115. When we walked in after driving 4 hours with our family of 5, we were told that the owner raised the price to $195 for the night due to the eclipse. We said it shouldn’t matter, Expedia bookings are a contract. The gals at the front desk called the owner to talk with us. The owner argued that Expedia couldn’t know what the rates were a year out, but it let me book nonetheless. She told the front desk girls to cancel our reservation but there was a family of 3 behind us as well that also booked over a year ago and were told a much lower rate. The girl at the desk didn’t want to turn away two families who had no where else to stay in town, so she was able to talk the owner into letting us stay for $150. We are still baffled that the owner thinks she can just change a contract agreement on a whim and get away with it. This left us with a very bad taste in our mouth for the experience, but it was worth the hassle to see the eclipse at the beautiful state park across the street. As for the accommodations, the front desk was very kind and apologetic. They let us check out an hour later at no extra charge. The suite room was a spacious room and the lobby was nice and open. The building is dated and worn but serviceable. My husband noticed mice scurrying in the walls overnight but I thankfully did not. Breakfast was filling but not extravagant. The front desk had thoughtful eclipse treat bags and coloring pages for the kids.

We apologize for the mix up. We had our reservations closed to Expedia well over a year ago. They opened the bookings 2-3 times after we told them over and over that all arrivals should be closed to bookings. They again opened up the rooms. This is an Expedia mistake, not MSL. We got the yelling and unhappy guest, but they are the ones who opened the rooms back up when we had them closed off.We hope that you can see our position as well; Guests were upset with us but, yet Expedia is the one who even let guest book to a closed arrival!We worked so hard to please our guest upon and during arrival and it really breaks our hearts that their mistake we are taking the blame for. I am so sorry.

We reserved a room at one price and we’re charged double when we checked in. The manager was not available. Apparently this happened to a number of the guests here. It was not resolved. Very unhappy. This was my first experience with Expedia

Arrivals were closed to all guests for over a year and a half! Expedia is the one who opened the rooms up 2-3 times after we closed them over and over again, yet we are the ones getting yelled at and the low scores. They never should have allowed any guest to book a room during the Eclipse! We apologize for their mistake!

Very well kept for an older property.
This hotel was so clean, very nice accommodations. The only thing I was disappointed with was the “full” breakfast. It’s only bacon and eggs on Friday and Saturday. I was there on Saturday evening to Monday morning.

Hotel is nice as long as you get the right room
This was our second stay at this motel in a week. Our first stay was not so bad minus the noisy AC unit in our room. Our last stay was horrible. The room was hot and muggy the AC unit could not keep up so we did not sleep very well. The coat rack was broken and there was a nasty old broken fan in the room.

Thank you for your feedback. We would have moved you to another room. It is hard to cool when it is almost 100 degrees outside and we would have gladly moved you if you needed to coat rack to use. Sometimes Guests put actual luggage up there and it breaks them down. We do not keep fans in the room. Did you let the front desk know while you were here?We apologize for our terrible stay. My staff works so hard to keep high reviews so, it really hurts to see such a terrible review. We are so sorry that your stay was terrible due to the coat rack and ac not as cool as you like.
