Location was mixed as very close to the blowhole attraction, one small Beach with coral and over longer bay with quiet waves; however it's a long way from a supermarket, bus stop or restaurant and up some rocky steps uphill which was difficult for my partner who was using crutches. "Great location. Friendly staff. While it looks clean there are corners and spots of lack of hygiene. Also when u ask for room cleaning they only do the bed. They don’t clean the bathrooms or replace glasses or clean the room. The make shift gym was also very dirty and I had to ask them multiple times to clean it. The jacuzzi while I seen the worker clean it- I didn’t think it was clean enough. Also while breakfast is included in the package- 1 morning we were told there is no buffet and we had to order whatever we wanted from eggs and Indian dosas. While overall a good place and staff are helpful - would expect more for what we pay for"

As a Gold status member, I was pleasantly surprised to receive the highest room upgrade available, and the entire team went above and beyond to make my stay special. A special mention to the Front Desk Manager and the Property Head—two of the kindest and most gracious hospitality professionals I have had the pleasure of meeting. Their personal attention and genuine care made all the difference. The property itself is beautiful, with a charming boutique feel, lovely spaces to relax, and excellent food throughout the stay. Every detail reflected thoughtful hospitality and a commitment to guest satisfaction. An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. This is a boutique property that is truly worth visiting, and I would happily return again. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"I had a really lovely stay at Ocean Bliss by Sugar Co-living in Weligama. The property has a beautiful beachfront atmosphere with a calm, boho-style design that feels very different from a normal hotel. The rooms are clean, cozy, and nicely designed, with a relaxed coastal feeling. The best part is the location. It is close to the ocean, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing, working remotely, or enjoying a slow beach holiday. The Wi-Fi was good, and the shared spaces made it easy to feel comfortable during the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience felt personal rather than commercial. It is a great place for couples, solo travelers, digital nomads, and anyone looking for a calm stay near Weligama beach. I would definitely recommend Ocean Bliss for guests who want a stylish, peaceful, and beachside stay in Sri Lanka."

Cape Weligama - Relais and Chateaux

"Beautiful location surrounded by stunning nature, with amazing rooms and a breakfast of a very high standard. However, the grounds and overall maintenance do not reflect the level expected from a Relais & Châteaux or Michelin Key property. There were dry leaves and weeds throughout the territory, and several trees appeared infested or dying. For such a large estate, there should clearly be more gardeners and stronger attention to maintenance and cleanliness. The lunch and dinner offerings were also disappointing considering the prices charged. At this level, the quality should match the cost. In particular, dishes prepared with raw tuna were served with the fish appearing brown rather than bright red or pink. As a cook myself, I know this indicates oxidation and a lack of freshness. I was also surprised that the concierge sent me an unsolicited bill via WhatsApp the night before checkout while I was still relaxing and my departure was only the following morning. At high-end properties, the guest experience is usually handled in a far more seamless and discreet manner. I have stayed at several Relais & Châteaux hotels before, and unfortunately this was among the weakest experiences in terms of service and guest handling. I would recommend taking inspiration from the Constance hotel group, particularly Prince Maurice, which understands luxury hospitality and guest relations at a much higher standard."
