"Amazing traditional inn. Fantastic food and lovely staff. Couldn’t have asked for more. "

"We had the best time in takayama and not least because of our stay here. It was one of the highlights of our Japan vacation. It feels really traditional yet well maintained and clean. The room was so nice and cosy. We also enjoyed the public bath. I hope we get a chance to visit again sometime."

"Nice hotel to stay in Takayama, onsen was provided. Friendly staff. "

"We had a 11/10 stay here in Takayama. The staff were so accommodating and kind. They really went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The location is great, with easy walking access everywhere you'd want to go. Amenities were also fabulous. Highly recommend staying here if you want a really treat. Something we will never forget."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. The service was excellent, the room was spacious, and the food was fantastic- both dinner and breakfast (we went for half-board)."

"Excellent facilities with excellent service at a great location."

"The owner is so nice and takes so much good care of the property. Everything was clean well maintained and the breakfast room was gorgeous. Breakfast was excellent. Great experience!"

"Staff is friendly, location is excellent, room excellent (with my own toilet), bathroom is shared but only one guest can use it at any time (this is good), place is old (also positive), food was Okay (quantity was good quality was average). Overall was a good experience."

"Came here with my husband and mother. A little sad that there was no view surrounding this ryokan. Unlike the ones I stayed in while I was in Hakone and Sapporo. This inn is small and has limited facilities (but it is enough.) Room was spacious and the futon was very comfortable to sleep in, staffs helped prepare the futons for us to rest efficiently. Both breakfast and dinner were good but a tad overpriced for what I was getting (beef portion was really little). The hot spring water was not as...

"This is a wonderful place to spend a few days. The ryokan is very authentically Japanese. The staff was helpful wherever we needed them. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"Takayama was amazing. The location of this place is hard to beat, impossible at this price. The room I stayed in was ~11tatami mats with two big windows. The have a lovely koi pond on premises. They have an adorable but incredibly comforting onsen on the main floor. It is feet from the river and a 1m walk from the morning market leading in to old town, filled with friendly shopkeepers. Shops close up early, so be sure to get your dinner in before 6pm or head toward the city for food. I never...

"I have stayed 2 nights with my family. Host is very kind. You can walk 10-15 mins from Takayama station. Host has given a ride to the station when we’re leaving in the morning."
