Enjoy freedom and relaxation in this small Queensland neighborhood. Meet local residents and sample international food while gazing upon the wide Noosa River.

Noosaville’s main street along Noosa River is lined with coffee shops and restaurants. Make this your morning “brekkie” destination while staying anywhere in Noosa. Join locals relaxing outside with espresso drinks and watching river activities.

As the day heats up, the parkland along the river gets quite lively. Sunbathe on the riverside beach or swim in the mix of fresh and sea water. Rent a Jet Ski, standing paddle board or kayak to ride with the current or meet the waves as the river spills into the ocean at Laguna Bay.

Australia is known for its “big things,” larger-than-life roadside objects. Near the river, take a fun photo with Noosaville’s oversized icon, the Big Pelican.

Arrive in Noosaville in time to visit the Sunday morning Noosa Farmers Market and stock up on food for your stay. The local meats are exceptional. Fresh local produce follows the seasons, with lusciously sweet pineapples, Australian finger limes and hydroponic lettuce. Visit varied food stalls for coffee or a full breakfast or lunch.

Nearby Tewantin offers great golf. Make the short drive in early summer to see the canopy of purple jacaranda blossoms or bright orange-flowered poinciana trees. Another Sunday market at Tewantin’s Noosa Marina focuses on clothing and souvenirs. Pick up a comfortable shirt or dress to wear in the hot climate.

Ride the river ferry with stops between Noosa Marina and Noosa Heads. Find additional shopping and dining options on Hastings Street. Sip wine on a BYO cruise or romantic gondola ride as you view waterfront property and ocean waves. Watch colorful rainbow lorikeets and flying foxes roost in the trees in the evening.

Towards day’s end, drive to Laguna Lookout for an inspiring view over Noosaville, stretching from the ocean at Laguna Bay, up the river and on to striking volcanic mounds in the hinterland. As you watch the sun set, listen for a pair of kookaburras laughing overhead in the ghost gum tree.
