"Clean room staff was nice and helpful"

"Pros: The property is beautiful upon driving in there is a beautiful lazy river pool with a swim up bar and right across from the beach. They allow up to 2 dogs for a non-refundable 125 fee and there is a large dog park at the back with 2 gated areas, which can open into one large area and plenty of bags and a trash receptacle. The hotel is also near rainforest cafe which is exciting since I haven’t been there since childhood. Fridge that works. Smart tv to view Netflix/Disney. Comfortable bed. Decent shampoo/conditioner/shower gel so I don’t need to dip into my hygiene stuff. Mostly nice staff. Cons: hidden fees: parking-25 per day (self-parking), restaurant/ bar/ service fees, deposit (100). The rooms aren’t as updated as I’d like the peeling paint on the door was painted over. There is dust under the a/c and vents. No tub. There is a shower only. When down at the pool I noticed the servers were offended we didn’t want to use their service and made it difficult to order from the bar by constantly asking if we needed anything after saying no. The drinks are minimum 10 and the food is minimum 20 per plate. I would be okay with the price, but the drinks weren’t very strong and the food was ok but not 4-5 star quality. The poop wasn’t emptied out the 3 days in the trash at the dog park. There was no carpet at all in the room, which gave me more a hard and less comfortable feel."

"This hotel is very nice and close to the beach. You can walk across the street and be on the beach which is why we booked it. Next door there is also a mcdonalds and Rita's ice cream which was INCREDIBLE! The staff was helpful but they were always away from the front desk so we had to wait. The free breakfast and coffee was below average, that is my only complaint. Overall very affordable and nice hotel for a family of 4."

"Our stay at the San Luis Resort was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The property is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and offers stunning views of the Gulf. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and luxurious, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The pool area was one of our favorite parts of the resort, beautiful, inviting, and perfect for spending the day soaking up the sun. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The restaurants on-site were excellent, with delicious food and great service. The location is also perfect, with easy access to the beach and everything Galveston has to offer. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a weekend escape, I highly recommend staying at The San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference Center. We can’t wait to come back!"
