We stumbled across this little gem while looking for a dog friendly hotel to stay for a family getaway. The owners were so friendly and made you feel very welcome. We stayed on the weekend so they had a fabulous breakfast in the gazebo. Everything was served with a smile. Beds were very comfy and you had everything you needed. Coffee maker and fridge make the room even better. Very clean as well. The gazebo is great for some drinks and relaxing in front of the gas fireplace. Or they have the...

I had an excellent stay at The Hungry Trout in Killington this winter. The location is very convenient due to its proximity to Whiteface and Lake Placid and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The rooms are rustic, comfortable and clean with great mountain views. The restaurant and pub have a great atmosphere and the selection and quality of food is very good. The hotel staff (including the owner) are very friendly and helpful and go above and beyond. Looking forward to return sometime in...

My family (2x adults & 1 x 16 year old, 1 x 14 year old) stayed for 3 nights at the Alpine Country Inn and Suites. The Inn is a good location for Lake Placid, the Olympic facilities and Whiteface mountain.
The owners are friendly ,welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The inn has facilities; the BBQ, swimming pool and fire pit (which my boys loved).
We had a fab holiday, the Wilmington area and the country Inn was just what we had been looking for. A great location to enjoy the...

Hamptons are generally a very good experience for the cost and this was no exception. Have used these many times and only had one experience below expectations - this was not it. The rooms are a good size, very clean and with very comfortable beds, Bathroom facilities are good as well. Breakfast is good for what it offers - not as extensive as more upmarket options but at the top end of competitor options. Staff very friendly and helpful as well

The hotel is located in a quiet area but there are a range of restaurants a few minutes drive away. We took a recommendation from the owner, who was extremely helpful. The room was well presented and clean which is exactly what we needed for an overnight stay! A few nice little touches (complimentary coffee, cookies in reception and opening the pool early) really helped us to enjoy our stay.

Warm, comfortable and the staff could not do enough for you. Would love to go back. Plenty of breakfast. More like staying with friends than paying to stay in a lodge. Breathtaking views. You must visit!

Stay was excellent. Only point we have is that the lighting in the rooms is very bad. Practically impossible to read unless sat right under a lamp. Otherwise room was very good, plenty of space and facilities.
Hotel was ideally situated between adirondacks and Vermont for excellent fall viewing.
