"Terrible check in experience. The hotel said they didn’t have my hotel.com booking (I had booked around 4 hours earlier). Receptionist was very unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. The lady at reception didn’t offer any advice other than to buy a new room and left me sat in reception for an hour whilst I tried to contact hotels.com on the phone, she didn’t offer me even the glint of a smile, a glass of water, an apology, nothing, instead she treated me like I was trying to steal a free nights stay even though I had a confirmation email with all details on. Terrible customer service experience. I booked this hotel specifically because it had a gym which I didn’t get to use as it had closed by the time I got to my room. A smile and a “don’t worry we’ll help sort it” would have gone a very long way. Lacking some very basic customer service skills. "

"Very disappointed with Shower very poor hot water pressure and to top it, hot water was barely tepid nobody wants to come from a days work to a cold shower and start the next day when shower was still cold. I also don’t see why they charge for car parking. I won’t be back. "

"Staff were excellent, immediately gave me another room when there was a problem with my initial room on check in. Also, all staff a ted in a professional manner when the hotel had to be evacuated after the roofers started a small fire... I was even directed to a nearby pub for lunch whilst waiting for the fire service to give the all clear, that they said the hotel would refund. I would have taken them up on it, if I hadn't already eaten. All in all good hotel with exceptional staff.."

"Nice friendly staff the room was nice basic breakfast the dinner was average free carparking nice swimming pool and spa was cold not heating up sauna and steam room was working. "

"Parking is limited but easy to get too. Linen nice and clean, towels and bedding. Tea and coffee provided in room. Only problem is that twice we have visited the hotel recently and had problems with the shower, no cold water therefore water was too hot, and previously shower handle broke off. First time another room was provided, second time offered a change of room or a room for a shower, staff offered a solution. All staff very friendly. "

The food was excellent, with a great selection and top-quality dishes that were clearly prepared with care. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyable and well presented. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after a long day. It’s clear the team take pride in keeping everything to a high standard. Overall, a brilliant stay with a warm, friendly atmosphere. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend The Owl Hotel to anyone looking for great service, great food, and a comfortable stay."

"Plenty of parking. All facilities were available (pool, spa golf etc) at an extra cost but I didn't use. Room looked out on to a brick wall and outdoor plumbing, but I assume this is because I didn't book directly with the hotel. Grounds were immaculate but not visible from our room. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment but it smelled good!"
