"All good, friendly staff and checkin"

"There were no staff on site as they leave at 5pm and the email to advise how to find a key safe was not immediately available. The key safe was not numbered and myself and another guest were trying to work it out while on the phone to someone from the hotel. When i got in, the windows do not open and it was a very hot evening so a fan was pushing hot air around the room as no air con. The bath had lots of marks on it and i'm unsure if they were stains or just generally unclean. The marks were brown so very off putting. The carpet felt thick with something and although it wasn't sticky, it didn't feel very clean. Overall, the location is good and it worked for what i needed it for. The bed was OK and the bedding looked clean but it wasn't worth the nightly rate as it was more expensive than holiday inn and other chains."

"Lovely place to stay, rooms are a good size and beautifully clean. All the staff are so friendly they really make the visit. Good choice of things for breakfast and again staff are very helpful and accommodating. Free parking is a big bonus and the accommodation is so centrally situated it’s easy to walk everywhere. This was my second stay here, will definitely come again and highly recommend."

"A very nice place and excellent pub food. We stayed in the "annex" across the street from the pub. As they warned, the staris were steep, so those with mobility issues may have trouble. The room was large and the bathroom was good. We only requested room cleaning once during our 6-night stay. The only minor issue was it seemed the common hallways and our room floor was not vacummed. All other services were excellent. We would definitely return to the Rose & Crown."

"The position of the hotel and the views were amazing. The golf course was also great and well maintained. Service in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. At breakfast time some juices and food items had run out and had not been replaced even though the restaurant was not really busy. The pool was very good and the new outside pool will be a bonus."

"The hotel and facilities are absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms modern. However, we experienced multiple issues with the disorganisation of the hotel and staff. When booking the spa the online booking system didn’t work, I tried to book over the phone and was passed from staff member to staff member and put on hold multiple times. When I finally managed to book, the confirmation email I received revealed the treatments were booked wrong. And it took another load of back and forth to correct. We had ordered two vegan meals for lunch, one was incorrect and we waited 40 minutes for a replacement. The staff had run out of a few of the cocktails on the already limited menu and once we finally managed to order something they did have, the service was very slow. When checking into our room, the staff at reception sent us in the wrong direction, so we ended up walking up and down the stairs and across the hotel with very heavy bags. The room was lovely and spacious, but we booked it for 4 people and the sink was blocked, meaning it took a while to drain which was not ideal for so many people using it. The spa treatments were lovely, the staff were very talented and products used felt of good quality. The facilities were nice and clean. Overall I would book again, as it is a beautiful hotel, but lacking organisation."

"Never staying at this hotel again after a litany of failures, including a collapsed mattress in one room and a blocked toilet in the room we were switched to due to the collapsed mattress. When I reported the issue with the toilet, I was then offered the room with the collapsed mattress again! I’ve stayed at the Jephson many times over the last few years, knowing it was pretty basic, but I feel the hotel has got much worse over time."
