This has been my favourite Ryokan in all Japan - made so by the very friendly and helpful staff. They really looked after us, and even posted on a jacket I stupidly left in closet to Tokyo. The room was a great size, comfy futons, and yet in a cosy environment where we felt like special guests. Highly highly recommend.

Extremely welcoming and friendly

Hachi Inn is a wonderful place to stay in Kyoto. The location is great; only 5 minutes walk from Kyoto station (handy if you plan to do some day trips from Kyoto) and a short walk from the river, bus stops and the metro. The staff at Hachi Inn are so lovey, friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, restful, clean and comfortable. Stay at Hachi Inn!

Beautiful place close to the station and old town... loved the traditional bath

Amazing room, one of the most friendliest staff and quick with replies. We enjoyed out stay and would recommend.

If you are looking for the authentic Ryokan experience then look no further. The hotel perfect in every way from the rooms to the breakfast. What really stand out more than anything though, is the staff. We were made to feel like their personal guests and the day we departed the manager even waived us off ! Absolutely love our stay here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Our favourite hotel of the holiday !

We stayed in the traditional Japanese room with futons and tatmi. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They told us about events in the city and provided a lovely (and good value) breakfast. Laundry facilities were useful.

Tucked in a quiet street with easy access to restaurants and public transport this hotel made our stay perfect. They have easy access to good complementary coffee, tea etc in the communal area.

Had a great time staying at this property. The staff were very helpful as well as understanding when i spoke to them. The property is near several convenience stores and was walking distance to the train station as well as some major sight seeing locations. Clean and tidy and loved the bathroom in the evening for a relaxing bath.

A lovely peaceful place to stay - traditional with good facilities. It’s clean and tidy. About a 10 minute walk from the main station. Helpful staff who took us to the place were we’re staying from the separate check in area.

Ikoi-no-ie was the perfect hotel for my three day trip in Kyoto. On arrival at Ikoi-no-ie we were greeted with a friendly welcome and showed to our spacious and well-equipped room. The charm of Ikoi-no-ie is its quirky and original character with home made signs and previous guest recommendations of places to visit, eat, and shop displayed in the shared kitchen facilities. Excellent value for money. I would recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Great location with easy walk to station etc. There was some disturbance of noise by other residence using Wi-Fi calling late at night (2 nights). Would recommend for short stay.
