The staff was fantastic, from the very first moment, after a mix-up with airport transportation. They took wonderful care of us. The room was very clean. We ate often at the hotel restaurant, which had a wonderful buffet of Brazilian food. The entire staff was kind and accommodating, and eased our fears about our lack of Portuguese. We got great recommendations and help with taxi transportation around the city, and the concierge desk was super helpful with anything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was good, and the food was great! The staff was definitely the highlight of our stay; special thanks to Joáo, Aryane, Guillermo, and all of lobby staff!

A very enjoyable stay

We (family of 4; kids aged 15 & 9) stayed 5 nights between Christmas & New Year's Eve - 2 rooms on the 22nd floor (2221 & 2209). We had a very late check-in, but had communicated this in advance to the hotel so this was no problem at all for Reception to handle. We upgraded ourselves to the Club Lounge upon arrival. The rooms were big and very comfortable, with a large ensuite. The large glass window/wall provided an excellent view out over the rest of the city. Breakfast at the Club Lounge was a little limited, but the service was excellent and eggs/omelette could be tailored to suit. Breakfast is also served in the ground floor restaurant (although we didn't try this during our stay). The outdoor pool area is very nice (although the street noise from over the wall is noticeable & he pool temperature is a bit colder than I think is preferable). Unlimited towels & plenty of sunbeds, as well as a bar make it very enjoyable to relax there. The service though is what made our say so good. None of the staff have problems speaking English (a clear distinction with the rest of Brazil) and they ae very friendly & helpful.

Amazing Facilities, Helpful Staff - 9.5/10

Overall I had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hyatt. The hotel was very clean, very spacious, excellent facilities and good food. The gym is excellent - the photos do not do it justice. There's a cardio room in addition to a fully stocked weights room with top of the range machines. 10/10 When I entered the room I felt the air conditioning wasn't working properly, and the hotel quickly changed my room to one where it worked fantastically - I was very grateful. Overall, this would have been a 10/10 stay were it not for one suboptimal experience. I had breakfast with my father and another guest, ordering around 220 reales worth of food, and the waitor kindly insisted on not charging us for it. Then when I checked out I had a bill for 300 reales. So not only was it not waived, it was more than what we ordered. The front desk kindly honoured 220, but what was a delightful breakfast became an unnecessary dispute. I would definitely return to this hotel - but I wouldn't accept a free breakfast from the waitors ;) Special mention to two very helpful members of staff: Juliano Sugimoto (front desk) and Bertho (restaurant)

The reception was friendly. The air conditioner of room was a bit noisy which should be improved. The visibility of water of the indoor pool was not good which raised concern on water quality. Collections and choices of the breakfast was nice which we enjoyed.
