"Good location for a base but very basic."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Montecarlo! The hotel is in a wonderful, central location close to Piazza San Marco. The staff was helpful, always ready to answer questions or give advice on local restaurants, things to do, etc. We had them arrange a water taxi for us to go to the airport, and it was an exceptionally smooth process. They even helped us transport our luggage to the water taxi. We never had breakfast or afternoon tea at the hotel, so I can't give an opinion on those. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Montecarlo again and recommend it to others. "

"Great location as a home base to visit Venice for a few days. It's an old building with lots of character, wonderful staff, beautiful details, just abit more than a hostel and way more privacy, best location too. Highly recommend to solo or couple travelers as well."

"Location: This hotel is very aptly located right next to the the famous Rialto bridge and vaporetta stop is very close. Rooms: are big with decent size bathroom (compared to other bathrooms in italy) Breakfast: is very good with options for no egg vegetarians like us. (Milk/coffee/hot chocolate/fruit salad/yougurts/bread/cornetto/veggie salad/juice/cereals/cheese/butter) they do have other non veg items too Staff: very very polite and helpful outside official hours as well. Overall i liked this hotel a lot and would recommend to book is well in advance. Cons: only 1 thing missing is elevator if you have heavy bags"

"Great location really close to St Mark's Square, really old room the bathroom was the shower, didn't matter really great spot and easy check in "

"The staff truly made our trip better with guidance on local authentic restaurants, to suggestions of a daily private boat tour of Venice that runs daily directly from the hotel. The breakfast was delicious with a range of gluten free options and the room was clean and had a wonderful view of the canal-albeit slightly obscured by the construction and scaffolding of the building opposite."
