"Newly renovated rooms with TV, mini fridge and comfortable bed with clean linens. Bathrooms are clean and have shampoo and body wash in the shower. The sinks are separated right outside the bathroom door which is convenient. The room could use an additional trash can as there is only one in the bathroom. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I forgot my toothpaste and the front desk employee provided me with a complimentary toothpaste which was convenient and good for two uses. Complimentary breakfast was really good as well and included yogurts, oatmeal, waffles, cereals, muffins, bagels, toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and coffee, tea and juices. I didn’t use the pool but it looked renovated as well and very nice. This is a prime location and close to a wide range of shopping, dining and attractions. I highly recommend The Alcala Hotel for your stay in San Diego."

"Had a mix up in the beginning, staff recovered handled it. Based on reviews I worried a bit about airport noises but the plane noise was inconsequential. All three pools was beautiful, great property and great location. Warning the GPS into the hotel goes thru the airport. Do not enter arrivals or departures. I got lost 2/2 times so not sure where. Good luck!"

"Checked in early with no charge. Basil was fantastic getting the room for us. We couldn’t be more happy with our stay. Beautiful view of my old ship the USS Midway. Room service was excellent for breakfast. Cleaning staff were exceptional. We will be back!!!"

"Room was super clean! The pool was well kept and they even lit a fire for us to use after swimming. We didn’t get to have their breakfast since we were on the Go for my sons Marine graduation but the set up looked amazing. Definitely recommend staying here!"
