"When we arrived we were asked to pay again even though we had paid in advance. I had to prove that I had paid in advance. When the man gave us our key to the room he just told us what room number with no directions. We walked around the hotel looking for our room for 15 mins before going to ask where it was and even then he just pointed in a direction and left us to find it ourselves. The bathroom door handle was falling off, the bed was not made so we had to locate the sheets and pillows and make it ourselves. When we checked out there weee different people behind the counter who then tried to charge us again for the room. I again had to prove I had paid in full. We would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. We were glad it was just one night."

"The hotel was absolutely beautiful, our room was modern and clean and very comfortable. The bed was a dream. Staff was super friendly and the all inclusive buffet was excellent with a huge variety for all meals and also possibility to grill your own meat or fish. It was one of the best holidays we ever had! The beach is very close and gorgeous with plenty of chairs available and a gorgeous palm grove to get out of the sun a bit. In summary, we had an amazing stay at Riu Cabo Verde and would definitely recommend it and book here again! Thank you!"

"Staff were professional and extremely helpful. Both at reception and the restaurants. The cleaners unfortunately spoke Portuguese, so put my requests in at the front desk. Excellent choice at breakfast. Buffet in the evenings also had a great choice. As soon as food ran out, it was quickly replaced, both breakfast and dinner. On 2 occasions, the lifts stopped working, but was quickly fixed. Great location, 3 mins to the beach and 15 mins walk into town. Decaf coffee in rooms, but ask and regular coffee is provided. Lovely hotel, slept very well. Had a really relaxing holiday. Would stay again at the Hilton. "

"Fabulous small and friendly local feel hotel with beautiful tropical flowers and plants all around the grounds. Our 1 bedroom apartment was comfortable, clean and had good kitchen facilities. The pool area is very relaxing with stunning sea views and easy access to the beach. The hotel is right in Sal centre nearby to the local restaurants and bars and is perfectly located for an evening stroll. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The half board option was very good value; at the time we went it included a buffet breakfast with lots of options including hot and cold options, freshly made omelettes and pancakes and at night there was a set menu including one drink, your main and a dessert to choose from. There were traditional hotel options as well as local dishes to choose from. The front of house team and restaurant chefs were very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely holiday and hope to be back sometime in the future!"

"The apartment was huge and really well furnished and a full kitchen. Pool was lovely and easy. walk to the beach and Santa Maria. I wanted a really quiet holiday and that’s what I got :) The resort is lovely and it’s such a shame that there’s not more people there-but to my favour "

"Lots of positives. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our bedroom recieved a thorough clean each day and we received fresh towels each day. Lots of food choices including a buffet and several a la carte. We were here 1 week amd had no problems booking a different restaurant each night by going to the booking service at 1030 in the odyssey bar ( next to the piano). Food was excellent. Hotel has several pools and direct access to the beach. No problems getting a sunbed. No mosquitos but bring your spray just in case."

"this is a very nice quiet hotel, but there are a few things useful to know.....avoid room one which has no aircon working and is a bit dark. most rooms don't have a sea view and the road is a bit dirty. book well in advance as they get busy. the restaurant is great and the staff are very attentive at all times. "
