"We booked a night here so my kids could swim in the indoor heated pool. When we checked in we were alarmed that the room was dirty (food smudged on wall with hair stuck to it). Then my 6 year old daughter tried to open the sliding closet door and it fell of the hinges and onto her. I ran and pulled it off her. She was fine so I picked up the door and moved it against the wall. At this point I'm not sure why we didn't just leave as clearly the hotel is not even safe... I think I was just so exhausted from travel. We went to try the pool and it was freezing cold, no attempt at heating or a sign that the heating was off/broken/etc. This is when we packed our bags to leave. We were there a total of about 40 minutes. I talked to the person at the front desk. She was kind but clearly didn't understand what to do. She told me we could get our money back and that we needed to contact hotels.com/expedia.com and they would call the hotel to confirm the refund. We paid $200 for this awful room and experience. So we just left and later that evening I called expedia. They called the hotel and apparently were told they would now not issue the refund. Expedia said they would escalate and get back to me within 2 or 3 days. I have not heard anything - it has been a week. I will have to try to contact them again. This hotel is seriously suffering on multiple levels. I am just completely shocked they wouldn't give me my money back after such an objectively horrible experience."

"I stayed at the Milwaukie Inn for several weeks and had a great experience. The property was clean, quiet, and felt safe throughout my stay. Housekeeping did a good job, and the staff was always friendly and professional. Any time I needed something, someone was available to help. The location is excellent. Stores, restaurants, public transportation, and other services are all close by, which made day-to-day life much easier. What impressed me most was the staff. They work hard, treat people with respect, and genuinely seem to care about keeping the property clean and running smoothly. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend the Milwaukie Inn to anyone looking for a clean, affordable, and well-managed place to stay."
