We loved our stay at Rock Lake Lodge. Rustic and secluded so perfect for our family fishing adventure. The staff were amazing! Candy and Leo were so friendly, funny, and authentic making for a very enjoyable stay. We ate all our meals at the lodge and the food is delicious! The kids just loved to food, the staff, and the area. Thank you again for a lovely time!
The food is terrific! This is important, as there are no other dining options for miles around! The smoked chicken was, in particular, one of the best meals that my son has ever had. The location is extremely secluded which is good, if that's what you want. We did not realize just how far from Jasper it is, but we found it after getting some help from a local tourist center (the property did not show up on GPS). The room was really cool with plenty of bunk beds for our whole family.
This place was amazing!! The staff was so friendly. My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and found that the staff was really helpful the whole time! Scott and Candy were very attentive to any need we had, Leo was great at making sure the sitting area was nice and toasty with the fire, and the food that Robert and Phyllis put out was top notch! Even though this is a bit out of Jasper, it was a great getaway! I highly recommend it! AND if you love animals, we saw some elk feeding not to far from us! It was awesome!!
Place is great. Candice as manager is fabulous. Details are her speciality. Robert is the chef. Here's a man that can be very creative with food. All hamburgers are not created equal for Robert. Excellent chef. Fabulous visit at lodge. Thx for all your kindness and for being so thoughtful with my wife anfd I. Cheers
Robert

In the forest
Very quiet and nice place , about 40 mins drive on the rough road to gets the lodge. Lake is very close by, TV internet is only inside dinning area. It was nice trip there but $275 a night a little expensive for me. If you are eating at lodge best to go early or their food are run out. You can rent canoe bikes or boat , nice to go for cruise around or fishing at the lake.
When I visit wildfire smokes made it invisible mountains.

Too far from Jasper
We were planning on using the lodge as our base for exploring Jasper Park. The lodge website states that it is 90 minutes from Jasper but it took us two hours each trip just to get to the town. Closer to 3 hours to get to a point of interest. So that is 6 hours a day traveling. Our room was very hot and stuffy. Most hotels do not have a/c here, but Rock Lake did not even offer a room fan. They also kept the downstairs fireplace going which added to the heat in the rooms above it. High temperatures were in the low 80's!! No amenities were in our room, not even cups or glasses. No coffee or ice available. Very loud with no insulation between the rooms or floors. All the lodge bedrooms are above the bar, dining and meeting area, adding to the noise. Our trash can was never emptied. In summary, we paid for four nights but left after two. Better to lose the money and save the vacation. And maybe this is a coincidence, but both my wife and I had internet security issues the day we left the lodge. Only one electrical outlet in our room.
The location is very remote, far from the national parks. This hotel is in a provincial park next to Rock lake, which is ordinary looking if compared with the stunning views of the Jasper park next door. You are better off spending the time in Jasper park.
The cabin is clean and rustic, the surrounding is quiet and pretty. I am not sure if they really offer what they claimed about the activities. We booked a boat and fishing tour in advance and it didn't happen. They claimed their free bikes were broken but they were actually ok. I suspect they just don't want to be bothered. They don't have horse on site and we didn't bother to book, because we sensed that probably is not going happen either. They did have a canoe which we rented.
If you are not a local looking for a quiet and remote getaway, skip this place.
this hotel is hard to find it because it has no clear driving direction in their website. I stayed their two nights and I heard several client missing the road or drive to wrong way. It is two far from Jasper and I do not recommend to stay the cabin.
