We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. Such a beautiful, grand and gracious hotel, this is in a perfect spot in Ripon. We were looked after as if very special guests by all the staff. The food was so delicious, a unique and delicious breakfast. Totally recommended

Absolute gem of a place to stay. Gorgeous room with everything you need & so peaceful. The food was really good both for dinner & breakfast. We visited Fountains Abbey which was only 2 miles away. And we could do parkrun with plenty of time to get back before checkout & eat breakfast. Would love to return.

This is a fantastic hotel, in an idyllic location. Everything about Goldsborough is of the highest quality, with great attention to detail .Our room was exceptional and the cleanliness was the best I have seen so far. The gardens are delightful to walk round and the head gardener was very polite and friendly, as were all the staff. Gorgeous looking hotel. Already lovely but excited to see it when their plans to gain a 4th star come to fruition. My only qualms are rather thin walls to the next bathroom (you can hear the next rooms shower power unit) and the ventilation (weather was low 20s but room got full sun and with no air con it was very hot, even with windows fully open). Otherwise, tasteful decor, a really nice restaurant with super food and a beautiful location.

Our family get together weekend at The Old Oak Tree was supreme! Absolutely faultless from arriving, check-in, accommodation, welcome, rear patio/beer garden, drinks service, dinner food and service. Breakfast was fantastic, the whole team was attentive, polite and helpful from beginning to end - a totally positive experience. The Old Oak Tree is fabulous in all departments!!

Lovely junior garden room with a very nice view! Very cosy and dog friendly! Super food served and the staff especially Jane & Lauren were so lovely and gave super service! Would highly recommend staying or dining here!

Had an incredible stay here. The house and surrounding area are stunningly beautiful, and the rooms are very cosy. Loved the amenities provided and the staff were wonderful, down to earth and happy to help with whatever you needed. We booked a room with a conservatory and had an amazing time watching the bats fly in and out of the tree next door. Breakfast was wonderful, as was the dinner service. I can see why you have so many regular guests!

What a find. Super rural location, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were spotless with loads of little special extras. The breakfast and the bistro style food was superb. We had a brilliant stay here and we would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

Had a lovely weekend here. This hotel was perfect. Nice and quiet but lively enough to provide a pleasant ambiance without ever being noisy or overbearing. Staff throughout were lovely and the food is very good. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to get away and relax.
