"Right from checking in, our room,the staff, the grounds & the food & drink being excellent. The staff are really friendly especially in the bar & restaurant where they made a special effort as my partner is vegan, also the food & drinks were really reasonable which I didn’t expect with it being a hotel. Sitting outside on the terrace in the sun with a cold cider/beer was fabulous as was sitting in the lounge on an evening chatting to Tom the barman. He was really helpful in suggesting local places to visit on our weekend away. We will definitely be back especially with the direct deals they have at the moment £169/179for 2 for 2 nights including breakfast & £15 towards your 1st night meal Apr-Sept. Bargin!!!! "Great hotel in an ideal spot for getting to York. The man on reception was lovely...really nice and helpful and very welcoming 😄 The breakfast was great too ...lots of choice all freshly prepared"

"Staff were great. Hotel very dated with a lot of damage to a lot of areas were patched up jobs that needed a full job doing. Rooms were reasonably clean. Breakfast was nice, not loads of choice but what was there was cooked nicely. "
