"The property was beautiful and offered great views and even had a small private pool. The space was welcoming and large, perfect for a small family! We do recommend the resort, especially during hot months, to have the AC units serviced appropriately as there aren’t many close dining options so most meals are prepared in the home, and no AC in the kitchen was miserably hot. We did have a difficult time after check in to get in touch with the resort to arrange transportation in a timely manner....

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay - All Inclusive

"The Good: Most of the staff was helpful and friendly. The reception staff was welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The greeters who welcomed you for breakfast and at Jasmines were also pleasant. I can't say enough good things about Crazy Legs and Pot of Rice in the entertainment staff :). These people went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time. I wish I got the names or the restaurant staff so that I could give them a proper shoutout. The Bad: The food just wasn't that good. I chose to go to the Bahia in Jamaica Runaway Bay because the food was so good at the DR location, I thought I would get a good meal here. I did not. There wasn't a large variety, and the food was either at room temperature or cold. Also, most of the people cooking the food acted like you were bothering them. They barely acknowledged your existence when you asked them a question and were not as warm and friendly as the other restaurant staff. The Ugly: My room was dated.... particularly the bathroom. At first, I thought it wasn't cleaned properly. Then I realized that there was this mold looking substance on both faucets that couldn't be cleaned. I wiped it down with my Lysol wipes and prayed for the best. At the very least, they should remodel the bathrooms. I did not feel good about taking care of my basic hygiene in there and did my best to spend as little time in there as possible. Bahia should do better!"

"Nice property. Good food at the buffet and restaurants. Most staff were professional and helpful. Need more night activities that do not end so early. Teach the dining staff the difference between a sari and a coverup. A coverup can be a sari but not all saris are coverups. Nice place to stay especially for first timers in the country. Transportation was highly accessible at the property which is very convenient. Lots to choose from for off resort activities."

"The food was great! The staff was friendly and polite. There are some areas that can use some attention (we had a few things in our room that suffered from wear and tear), but by no means a deal breaker. The entertainment was great, and there is a lot to do without leaving the resort. We did though, and enjoyed every minute. We will go back and will most likely stay at the Riu. Lovely vacation!!"

"The over all experience was ok. Check in time was 3. We waited an hour and a half for our room. We are not very adventurous when it comes to foods, lunch and dinner options were limited. The spaghetti at the Italian restaurant was very good. The swim up room was great! The pool was massive, plenty of room to move around. The room was clean."

"Resort needs updating. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, our curtains were not on track properly and very difficult to open/close. Food in the Samurai Restaurant and the Italian Restaurant was mediocre. We did find a good variety of offerings in the Buffet and chose to eat out on the patio for breakfast and dinner which was quiet and relaxing. The service in the buffet was good. Excellent desserts and omelettes too."
