I had a good experience at Namu. The hotel looks new and very well maintained. The service is great all over and they do make you feel special. It is probably one of the nicest hotels in Puerto Viejo. Areas to improve: the pool needs more loungers as they get filled up very quickly; also some of the top floor master rooms are noisy, can hear everything the neighbours are doing and they need some work to seal the noise.

My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at El Encanto and simply stated, it was paradise. The grounds and room were breathtaking. There are two lovely pools and loads of wildlife could be seen throughout the grounds on any given day (or night). There was no fridge in the room, but we were able to access the fridges in reception at any time and filtered water is also available there 24 hours per day, along with coffee and tea. Staff were fantastic, especially Eden who really helped...

Although not close to many amenities- we managed very well without a car for 4 nights - used the local bus at the end of the road & Uber - hotel opposite has a bar & restaurant but equally happy to make a few meals. Pool was great, enjoyed the stay. Breakfast fabulous! Walked to Manzanillo & enjoyed the quiet beach.

An amazing hotel and staff. Great breakfast served with a smile. Good location, not too far from the center, close enough to restaurants and the beach. Staff made the stay extra special and very welcome with lots of local knowledge Hope to go back soon.

I stayed at the property early February, arriving earlier than check-in but the staff were very friendly and helpful letting me leave my bags and belongings in their managers office until my room was ready. The staff were also very knowledgeable of their local areas advising one what to do during the days and which beaches to visit. The breakfast in the morning was very filling, sitting down you’re given you choice of tea or coffee, with a side of fruit and fresh fruit juice before you’re given...

Amazing hotel, staff were so friendly, took the time to walk us around the grounds pointing out where to find all the resident animals. Peaceful, beautiful grounds full of wildlife. Great location to the beach and town

Stunning, beach, rooms, breakfast all fabulous - stayed 3 nights, could have easily stayed longer.

A beautiful resort located by the beach - we saw as much wildlife at the hotel as we did in 3 national parks.

We loved the quirkiness of this location, as well as the proximity to the beach. Andrea was so so lovely and helpful and made some excellent recommendations for how to spend our time, as well as putting us in touch with an excellent guide for a day out. We loved the personal touches and that everything was local and/or homemade

Amazing place! Very friendly and helpful owners. Celina is a wonderful cook, her breakfasts are impeccable. The house is beautifully furnished with extremely comfortable beds. The house is only a short trip from the main road, walkable but a car or motorbike makes it easier.

Truly paradise!! Come here you won’t regret it!

Nice swimming pool, staff friendly and very helpful. Kitchen very well equipped and functional. Location great- Very close to a beach, national park entrance and bus stop. Unfortunately there is a plumbing issue so there was often a nasty smell by the poolside and both toilets in our rooms didn’t flush properly.

A great hotel just south of Puerto Viejo. Very good pool (with 2 large hot tubs). Direct accesss onto beautiful Caribbean beach. The restaurant was good although seemed quite quiet and therefore lacking some atmosphere- The only problem was that I had booked a ‘family bungalow’ by the pool thinking this would be great for a family of 4 with 2 teenage children, but these bungalows have 2 bedrooms with a single queen bed in each, and no flexibility to put in two single beds. I did ask why they...

It’s a nice little heaven where you can unwind all your stress. It’s like a mini jungle where we were staying in a nice little two bedroom house. It’s like living in a judge with all modern facilities. Listening to Birds chirping, monkeys howling from nearby forests was becoming my morning chores. It has a nice little swimming pool open 24/7. Loved it. Host was very friendly and helpful. She even entertained my daughter with a snake(not as scary as it sounds). Walking from the Main Street...
