Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner very good as well. Friendly staff. Great location. Could do with some parking
The Miller of Mansfield is a beautiful old hotel situated in the heart of Goring. Unfortunately our room was at the front of the hotel on the road so it was extremely noisy with traffic, early morning rubbish trucks and church bells ringing every hour (not that this is the properties fault). Our room was comfortable and clean but we did not have a very comfy bed, it was low to the ground and quite a saggy mattress. Breakfast was just passable. This property is expensive for the value you receive. The cleaners were amazing and did a fantastic job each day. Our stay was okay just not great.

Mixed bag!
Thought it was a lovely place with friendly staff. Food was good (not excellent). Room was freezing as central heating was not turned on for a cold night in October so this was disappointing. shower wasn't very hot. Seemed a bit tired in places. However overall we had a pleasant stay.
Friendly staff on arrival, sadly lacking from man serving at breakfast. Room good but be warned, open bathroom, could see the loo from the bed. Kettle in the room.
No aircons as per the apps description .
Also the caps on the milk bottles were rusted which is a health hazard.

Unfortunately there was no cold water in bathroom sink and hot water scalding. Also no real shower , just strange v deep bath affair and a shower wand. V inconvenient. On the plus side there was a nespresso machine in the room which was useful. I felt the room was overpriced.
The app mentioned the rooms had aircons when in reality that wasn’t the case. Hugely disappointing as the weather was very hot and the last thing you expect is having wrong description on an app such as this.
Also the caps on the milk bottles were rusted which is a health hazard.
Hotels.com notification stated check in from 2pm but it was from 4pm which ws a bit inconvenient. Had a few problems but they were sorted by the owner Simon to the satisfaction of all parties including improvements for next guests. Good breakfast and service in the restaurant. Cleaning team were excellent. We would stay again

Food was pretty average More interested in taking my money than sorting out my room. Breakfast poor. Had to pay extra for a Latte.
How can you rate a hotel that takes, accepts and confirms a booking for a day it is closed and doesn’t notify you? We only found out after a gruelling 50 mile bike ride and had to find somewhere else at 8 o’clock at night at our own expense. Shockingly bad service.
The staff here is lovely, the rooms are super comfy, and the food is amazing! Easy to get to from London and then walkable from the train station, so you don’t need to rent a car or book a taxi.
Booked this hotel on the basis that we expected £189 per night to offer exceptional levels of comfort and condition etc. This was possibly naive on my part. Cannot fault the guy from Cambridge who welcomed us when we arrived (quite late) - we ended up having a drink and long chat which was great. We did feedback when we checked out but the condition and size of the room wasn’t commensurate with the price we paid. Maybe we just got unlucky - but the room was quite small and the bathroom a bit pokey. Breakfast was ok the next day but nothing special. Staff were all lovely so no complaints there at all. We did drive away thinking why we’d just paid almost £200 to stay there though.
The Miller of Mansfield was fabulous. The staff was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and accommodating. Mary and Alex made it a dream come true to visit Goring-on-Thames.
