"The staff were very helpful, and the spa/gym was good for us though somewhat dated. THe only negative was with the evening meal on 3oth October. The lamb and Tapas were really good but the vegetables served with the lamb were inedible. They had been cooked but were like sticks, couldnt even cut them with a knife. The next tables had the same issue. Really strange. We should have calle the chef to explain but we felt we didnt want any fuss. "

"The hotel was comfortable and had wonderful views of the lake . The decor had a Scottish feel and was clean. We were booked to have a Snug but ended up having a classic double. So spacious a d comfortable. For breakfast we had a lot of choice including a full Engish. Staff were polite and helpful. One tip: when you arrive at the hotel, park in front and unload your bags before parking in the car park. Otherwise you will have to carry your bags up stairs to reception. On the whole a lovely hotel close to Lake Windemere. Will definitely stay here again. "

"Didn't realise at time of booking, this hotel was next to the ferry/boat terminal. This meant we would walk a short distance from the hotel and board the ferry/boat to Ambleside and Bowness. Also the hotel is next to the Aquarium and steam train attraction. We also found the spa (pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms) were not being used by other guests from 2pm to 4pm, which meant we had all this to ourselves. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Hotel staff very good and professional (especially George). It was that enjoyable, we stayed an additional night. Top hotel for sure. "

"From the moment we pulled into the car park we had a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were brilliant for the whole stay. We had a 4 poster room which have amazing views of the lake. Breakfast was very good with great choices and perfectly cooked hot selection. Service was 5 star."
