"It was a lovely and comfortable resort. My boyfriend and I stayed two nights. The staff was very helpful with advice on getting into Charlottesville. The property was green and sprawling with animals and a private lake to fish and kayak on. The hotel room was comfortable and well maintained. I would love to come back someday and try the cabins they have!"

"I booked for the solo experience and most definitely to cook my food outside on the fire pit. When I received my check in information an hour prior to 4pm check in is when they disclosed full no burn ban through the duration of April, had this information been disclosed I probably would not have booked or waited until the ban was over. I feel it wasn’t disclosed to avoid people from canceling. They could have at least credited a small portion of the replenishment destination fee that covers the wood they supply. But of course not, outside of that the place was beautiful and relaxing, I would go again only when the no burn ban is lifted."

"Everything was seamless and good. We had no issues. Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean. The only issue we had was when we tried to turn the heat on in Rm 225, it started to smell really bad so we turned it off. I think it was just dusty from not being used but we didn't want to take the chance so we didn't turn it on. The weather was unusually cold while we were there so we were cold in the room with the air condidtioner being on. "

"This is a historic property and was very unique old Inn. The room was clean and the owner's were very friendly especially at check-in. (Note: they do not stay on the property overnight so make sure you have what you need before they leave). The breakfast is included unfortunately I had to leave before they served at 9 so the owner made up a to-go bag for me the night before. There is also a coffee shop nearby in case you can't make the breakfast. The restaurant was excellent. The wine, meal, and dessert were 10/10. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again."
