"Staff was great! Breakfast was delicious. The hotel itself was unique in all the best ways. We were staying in one of the oldest buildings in Charlottesville. We learned , on our tour of Monticello, that Dinsmore was a master carpenter that actually built the dome (and much more) at Monticello. I believe he built this building that is now the Dinsmore. Our room was very old and very comfortable."

The staff went above and beyond to greet us. We also ate at the main restaurant Poplar and the food, decor and service was perfect! "Staff were pleasant and helpful. I selected this hotel because it advertised a restaurant onsite. It does not. Breakfast is self-service like most restaurants, but there is NOT a restaurant. There is what looks like a bar with hours posted, but it wasn't open once. I even confirmed with hotel staff. There is no restaurant on site."
