Beautiful property close to airport. If it wasn’t for the occasional plane you would think you were in the middle of the country side. The dinner was delicious with a complimentary tamale to start and the mushroom pasta was to die for. The room was beautiful with a wood fireplace, heated duvet, large bathroom and amazing shower. I would definitely stay here

Lovely—and birdy

This was a great place to begin to unwind at the start of our trip to the Galapagos and then Peru. Many birds around the grounds, trails to hike (with more birds to see), and lovely facilities. Helpful friendly staff, too.

We chose the lodge on the recommendation of our tour guide company as a retreat to chill out after a busy 8 days visiting the Galapagos and Amazonia. It was indeed a relaxing location where my wife took advantage of the resort spa and I was able to enjoy the scenic walks and spot a few bird varieties. The food and hospitality was good. A few of the treks were restricted and that was the only negative point.

This property was perfect to begin my holiday. From organising them to pick me up from the airport where they were there waiting for me to the friendly demeanour of all staff. Our first night was a bit rocky — our room was in the Historic area of the hotel, close to the road, and we could hear a neighboring dog barking. The next morning at breakfast, we only saw coffee, toast, cereal, and fruit, so we thought that was all that was available. After we started eating, a staff member arrived and took our order — and we ended up having a delicious hot breakfast. We really enjoyed exploring the beautiful property. It was quiet, peaceful, and full of birdlife, which made for a lovely experience. We noticed a few empty rooms and asked reception if we could move due to the noise, and the staff responded quickly and kindly accommodated our request. The rest of our stay was excellent — we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast the next day. Overall, a relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. We would recommend this property.

Excellent Stay - love the birds and nature

Loved my stay here, breakfast was excellent, also had lunch and dinner here because the kitchen makes some tasty and nutritious food. Just a note that this is a nature reserve in a hacienda, so the rooms smell woody and you can hear birds chirping in the morning, the perfect alarm clock. The staff are really friendly, from being responsive on whatsapp to greeting you and showing me around the property, they made me feel really welcomed! The walk around the nature reserve was also really nice, theres a great amount of biodiversity and birds to be found. Also got to feed the 2 llamas there. Would wish for more local soups and foods to be added to the menu. For example, encebollado soup would have been perfect on cold nights, or maybe even a Hornado roast for lunch just to try everything once again when I arrive in Ecuador.

Beautiful facility, but lack of heat in room

We loved the room and the stunning property. However, the wood fire heater in our room did not work, and after requesting help with it from four different staff members, no one could resolve the issue. The room did not have heating as a result and was very very cold. On our second night we were provided with a fairly functioning electric space heater that only had a low setting (high wasn't working) and did little to help. Would encourage other visitors to double check on heating if staying during colder climates.

Talk about a hidden gem...

Hacienda Jimenita has fabulous rooms and grounds with a 5000 year old tunnel. The vegetation, forest and canyon are wonderful. Meals ate excellent and well-priced, and Oscar makes a great martini. The staff is very welcoming.

We enjoyed our short stay at Hacienda Jimenita prior to traveling to the Galapagos last month. The staff was kind and accommodating and the grounds are beautiful. It was great to be in nature and hike around the property prior to flying further. Our room was adequate and had everything that we needed for our brief stay. It was the perfect start to our time in Ecuador. We enjoyed the convenient location - less than 20 minutes from the airport as well.

This is a beautiful looking historic Hacienda property located close to Quito International Airport. It is under final approach for the airliners. It isolated in that there are no off-property restaurants within walking distance and it is a 45-minute taxi ride one-way to historic Quito. The restaurant on-property has good food but a limited menu. The only heat available in the rooms is the fireplace/wood stove. Wood is supplied.

Lovely boutique lodge style hotel

This is a great little hotel close to the airport. If wildlife and birds are your thing, you have to stay here. Rooms are large and beds comfortable. Water pressure and shapwer temperatures are a bit of a gamble. Also, heating is an issue. The only heat in the rooms are wood stoves and i went through all the wood in one night trying to stay warm. They should invest in quality space heaters. The stove is cozy but quickly looses its charm at 2am when you have to build a new fire. Staff is incredibly friendly and so very helpful. Restaurant is good. Food is between good and excellent depending on the dish. Food temperature could be improved. A few items arrived at the table cold. The biggest area where they could improve is safety. Steps and paths are stone with no hand rails. This is dangerous. Especially if someone has any mobility issues. Ibwould love to recommended the hotes tonsime friends, but this one issuebwill keep me feom doing so. I will come back, so longnas i don't need handrails.
