"Had problems with road noise with room the first night but the staff changed our room for the following two nights. Staff even asked in morning when they were cleaning if we wanted more towels. They have excellent breakfast in the morning, good coffee. They care about upkeep of the building for I saw they were upgrading rooms with new paint etc,"

"First stay at this hotel. Interior is fairly new or very well kept up. Hallway very clean and well lit. Room, elevator and lunch area were all very clean. Room has no microwave and a very tiny refrigerator which of course ours did not work. Biggest issue was the exhaust fan in the bathroom. It was soooo loud gave you a headache by the time you finished your shower. Did advise staff when we checked out. Overall we were quite impressed and will definitely stay again ."

"Clean room. Very close to Appalachian trail, close to park information center, shuttle service to lower town. NO elevator, so stairs were hard for us carrying luggage. Desk clerk helped which was wonderful. Being so close to everything & being able to have a 1st floor room. Would definitely stay their again. We r in r 80's. Stairs r hard , but managed parr of the trail"

"Very handy for Dulles. We had a good stay, shuttle very efficient as were the staff. Decent buffet breakfast. Our top floor room suffered from a loud AC roof unit which affected our sleep. A very good option for Dulles"

"The Salamander resort is breathtaking! Spectacular property. The staff was always willing to answer questions or to help in any way possible. Our room was clean and very comfortable. I was so happy to see that it is pet friendly. My only complaint was that guests left their dogs in their rooms while they were out. I heard a few dogs that were clearly distressed at being left alone. As a dog owner, it really upset me. The guests should be required to not leave their pets alone."
