From our villa with infiti pool looking on to the rice paddies to the private walled accomodation, the extensive beautifully designed gardens, wonderful food by chef Dean, everything superb! "We stayed in an interconnecting room as a family of four travelers. Staff are super welcoming and very attentive to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I found the property a little run down, especially in the bathroom. But I’ll say it’s quite normal as it’s not a high end hotel. The pool was a little disappointing as it’s very small and because it’s a retreat, there’s nothing much to offer. One thing I found unusual are the refilled body wash and lotions in ceramic jars - I could never use that and found unhygienic. One thing I liked about this retreat was the water stations. Clean drinking water was easily accessible. "

"We had a wonderful 7-day stay at Alaya! The staff was amazing- always ready to help make our stay comfortable. Housekeeping was done twice a day. Breakfast was excellent and included both a buffet and a menu to order from. They customized many options for us to vegetarian versions. The hotel also arranged day trips for us with a personal driver for sightseeing. Yoga Barn was nextdoor so it was an easy walk back after an evening class. There were many restaurants for dinner options within walking distance. I would highly recommend Alaya to anyone visiting Ubud."
