"What a pleasant surprise to walk into our room, the room was lovely decorated and felt welcoming. The cleanliness of the both the bathroom and bedroom was of a high standard, lovely clean carpets and furniture. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The atmosphere in the bar was really nice and the bar staff attentive and friendly. Also it was great to be able to park my car right outside the hotel, very convenient. The hotel was quiet throughout the night which added to a peaceful night. Over all a very pleasant stay and I would have no doubts about staying at the Tontine hotel again. "

"No cooked breakfast when I was supposed to get an English breakfast "

"Stayed overnight and had prepaid for breakfast. Went down when breakfast opened but there were many students staying and had formed a queue around the dining room. We didn't have time to wait as had to catch a particular ferry. Told receptionist when we checked out and was told "they paid too". Not impressed at customer service."

"Food excellent, room small but adequate and clean. Easy parking. Staff very helpful. The hotel is a conversion from a very old house that's dark and a bit run down but the bar and restaurant are very nice. Overall very good value for money @ £85/night for double room and first rate 3 course meals from £17"

"Our Dog was welcomed. Very friendly and approachable staff, our room was as expected clean and exactly what we required as being disabled, on the ground floor and a walk in shower. We had no problems getting there, and being there, staff were excellent and attentive, Especially Gavin GM. Dale HM, and Pete the Executive Chef. Other staff were friendly and helpful too. We had a great stay."
